CPFC v Hereford FA Cup 62/63- Dodgy Palace Kit

I have tried a thread like this before, this was my first ever match as a kid, my memory tells me that we played in vertical stripes that day that were a mixture of white, claret and a fairly darker than usual blueshirts with white shorts. I never saw this kit again. I know that the club used to use different strips for FA Cup games in the sixties but we played Mansfield in the next round in the old hoops. (Ouch, we lost the replay 7-2).Does anybody remember the vertical stripes kit? it was at least five years before we brought out the candy stripes (as Bobby Woodruff), does anyone have any old newspaper cuttings?

I love these types of thread
I also love seeing really obscure Palace Kits
Unfortunately this was 10 year pre-SPF, but if anybody can get a pic of it that would be superb.

Talking of obscure kits, during the 64/65 season we suddenly took to playing in amber shirts and white shorts for FA Cup matches, the logic in that always escaped me. By the way, ramblings of mine are only the ones of an otherwise mature adult who, happily, has an outlet in the form of a football club he has loved all his life to trivialise about.
Get a life? I'm happy in my madness.

If anyone has ANY pics of unusual kits send them on and they'll be included in the kit pages on Palace Echo and Holmesdale on-line sites - Simon - you may want to check these out!

I liked the Red and blue versions of the thunderbirds kits we had in the 80's!

Sorry guys, all my old programmes are somewhere in the loft along with the dreams of seeing Palace become a big club. And it was good seeing the players numbered 1 to 11 whatever kit they were wearing...hell, I must be getting old...where's the horlicks?
