top 5 hated poll
It was surprising to see my team, Birmingham City star so prominently in the 'most hated poll'. Is this anomosity because of Bruce or do it has anything to do with Little Red Riding Hood checking to see if the Selhurst pitch would take a stud, all those years ago?
For the record, I don't dislike Palace at all. In fact it used to be one of my favourite away visits. The old 'Eagle Club', or whatever it was called, was one of my first places to serve me a beer - think I was about 14yrs old. I slept through most of the match on the away terrace after that. A friend of mine is black. He sat with the home fans at a Birmingham gamme (he supports Palace). He kept himself to himself and just watched the game, but for some reason racist remarks rained down all around him, both aimed at him and those on the pitch. For that reason and that reason alone is why I dislike Birmingham.

Fancy dress...
....oh what memories from that game, a knight and chef having it with a couple of nutters that walked across the pitch from the Main Stand. That was a surreal afternoon. I still have the six O'clock news with Moira Stewart on tape somewhere at home. All it showed though was someone holding another guy by the hair and punching him, no fancy dress in sight.
Oh and no, don't mind Birmingham City. Can't stand that bent nosed Manc, though. 'Stand Up if you've had Brady' |

I remember that 'fancy dress' relegation party well. I remember The Pink Panther costume contrasting nicely with the Adolf Hitler uniform. I remember a lot of the away supporters throwing their toys out of their prams as Palace went about scoring a collection of easy goals given away by an appalling defence. They really thought they deserved recognition which they weren't going to get on the pitch, so they thought it better to strike out and get noteriety instead. Scum. They deserve Bruce.

Who remembers that glorious 90th minute own goal one of their players scored when they were winning 1-0 at Selhurst in the season 00/01?
Another one that that this season would be good.

it's because of Bruce and that slag who runs your club for your porn barons.
Nothing against your club, we'll just be slagging off Bruce on the 1st April. Don't take it personally

Its Bruce and your board poaching our playing and derailing a very good position. We were top three at the time and playing brilliantly. A few of your more moronic fans came on here to gloat for some time afterwards, although a few came on with apologies.
The gloaters were effectively blaming us for the debacle, having a go at our Chairman for correctly defending our position and going on and on about what a bigger club you were etc.etc.. It was very annoying at the time. Bruce lied to us, to our chairman and to the newspapers, he exaggerated or made up stories suggesting his family had been threatened constantly and this was all to ingratiate himself with the sportswriters. This time it didn't work. On balance we probably only hate Terry Vegetables more and there has been some fine characters grace our history. Once we have had the chance to abuse him on appropriately enough April Fools Day I am sure normal service will be resumed.
