What happened? Did they all get caught with underage hookers?
Again ....

The way they played I would imagine the French supporters are probably very pleased!

Its no surprise to hear that Franck Ribery has to pay for it.

Birthday present for Franck. She was flown over and was paid 700€, which was a bargain. she would have earned a lot more if she carried on ''working'' in Paris.

Bit pointless really. New coach in, just let him get on with it. Surely the pitiful displays at the WC is enough rather than saying "you were naughty, you're banned for a game".

The coach requested it.

Pointless. It's a friendly, and most players wouldn't be match-fit. It'll be more interesting to see Blanc's selection for the first Euro qualifying match a couple of weeks later. I'll post a possible France XI after dinner.

Hope some of them never play for their country again.

Would have been more entertaining if he picked the exact same 23, and threw them to what would have been the lions' den of the home crowd.
Then sent them all home at half time |

A possible France XI (as suggested by l'Equipe):
Ruffier (Monaco) Débuchy (Lille) Mexès (AS Rome) Rami (Lille) A. Cissokho (Lyon) Cabaye (Lille) L. Diarra (Real Madrid) Nasri (Arsenal) Briand (Lyon) Rémy (Nice) Gameiro (Lille) Other possibilities: GK: Landreau (Lille) RB: Chalmé (Bordeaux), Fanni (Rennes) LB: Trémoulinas (Bordeaux) CB: Ciani (Bordeaux) DM: M'Vila (Rennes), M. Cissoko (Toulouse) AM: Ben Arfa (Marseille) CF: Benzema (Real Madrid), Hoarau (PSG) |

I think its brilliant and we should do the same. Makes a statement about who's in charge - whether you think its gone far enough is a different question - and also allows the new coach the chance to look at new players in every position under the guise of punishing the old guard, completely removing any pressure - the story is about the ban.
Very very very clever move by Blanc - expect some of this squad to grab their chance and be part of the future set-up. |

it will mean nothing if they are all selected for the following game

England didn't stage a mutiny or go off running around with under age hookers. They just sucked. Still, I'd like to see Cappello make selections based on the formation he wants to play, rather than the other way around. Wasn't Peter Taylor playing for England while we were in league 2 or 3?
