i know, its mental, stupid fans. 10k a week is plenty really. they are a small club who may stay up but will always be a bad run from relegation.

phil brown on sky on sunday said i he were back at hull he'd have done something different. he said he had the chance to get zamora but didnt want to spend the extra wages he was asking for. HAAAAA. so all the shit they are in financially and the thing hed have done differently was to spend more

it beggars belief. what an imbecile. gone are the days of a manager thinking its part of his job to balance the books obviously.

I'm still amazed by this. So these agents work for the players, work the phones to get a player moved to a new club, then the new club pays the agent a fee? That makes no sense. No wonder so many players change teams constantly. It should be like here in the US, the player pays a percentage of his salary to his agent. Do agents over there even need to be licensed or anything?

I totally agree. It makes no sense whatsoever. Even in commodity trading when a broker is involved, it is the seller that normally pays the commission, not the buyer, unless it is specifically agreed otherwise (rarely). Same with real estate agents - it's the vendor that pays, not the buyer.

But even this is stretching the imagination when it comes to football. If the agent is representing the player, then the agent is justifiably the player's sole financial responsibility. Neither his former employing club nor his new employing club should be picking up the tab. The way football is currently structured financially is totally perverse and ultimately, it could kill the game, unless reasonable level wage caps and players paying for their own agents becomes the norm.

Whilst it was admirable, I don't think you can simply state Simon Jordan has "morals" simply because of his entirely logical stance against agents.

He is the same man who left St Johns Ambulance bills and those of many small local businesses go unpaid.

It says something about society as a whole that not one board member fought against Oyston's departure. Wouldn't be surprised to see money being funnelled out of the club left, right and centre now.

you could argue that his morals regarding agents were spot on though no?

im sure we could have been in a lot more debt if he had have been reckless with agents fees, transfer fees and wages.

it was other areas of his ownership in which i feel he failed greater. not being able to work with other people and failing to bring in outside investment/partners, and allowing selhurst to lose some of its matchday appeal, largely to do ticket pricing for my self
