Should all leagues take up this point system?!

Quote:
Manchester United are due to take part in the Amsterdam Tournament this summer.

United, Barcelona, Parma and Ajax will contest the tournament at the Amsterdam Arena between August 2-4.

The competition is a one-of-a-kind event with a points system designed specifically to encourage exciting and attacking play.

Over the three-day period the four teams play two matches each, with three points being awarded for a win, one point for a draw and one point for every goal scored.

Maybe you could lose a point for every goal let in as well?!

Not if we keep TF. How many goals have scored recently? How far ahead would Man City be? With that in mind I reckon Keegan would be one of the most successful managers around with his form at Newcastle and Man City. Not a true reflection in my view.

Anyone at enough of a loose end to show us how recent division standings would have been affected by this?

And if we were to engineer a 20-20 draw with Preston that should see us both in the play-offs at the expense of Brum and Millwall.

Doesn't make much difference to the League, but in a sense that's a false comparison because the teams haven't played with that rule in mind - e.g. would West Brom have been as satisfied with their constant one-nillers?

It's a bit gimmicky, but I suppose it might turn us into a nation of Keegans!

I can tell you're feeling unappreciated. Well let me be the first to congratulate you for spotting the fatal flaw.

I must admit I didn't spot it.

Teams playing against each other could fix matches so that the final result is a 50-50 draw with both teams getting 51 points.
