Retro football games
Some great nostalgia. I seem to recognise all of them; think I had quite a few of them.

I used to love Matchday 2 and Emyln Hughes International Soccer on my Spectrum. When I got an Amiga it was all about Sensible Soccer. I never got what the fuss was about with Kick Off - it really left me cold.

Which game was it on the NES where from wide just inside your own half you could press both A and B and it would turn the ball into a spinning pizza destined for the top corner?

the game your talking about is 2mins 55 seconds on the you tube video,
my parents bought me the nes pack for my 9th birthday in 1990 with world cup, tetris and mario, amazing game. Gonzo look at the link below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SL6tLpMFi7U Completely off topic but megaman on the nes was truly a great game.

Kick off and SWOS on the Amiga 500 were the bomb. Loved it. Especially when you got the hang of it and using the joystick could chip it into the top corner every time.

Kick Off was ok. Nice nostalgia to see stanchions on the goals too....there was a time when a large number of grounds could be identified just by looking at the distinctive nets or stanchions attached to the goals, including Selhurst.

I'm sure we've done this before. Had this for my Amstrad CPC464:-
![]() Used to have loads of seventies palace players in it, I'm sure. Did anyone have Jimmy? Got it for my 11th birthday, it was an early 80s electronic game. It had red LED lights for the players and a crap keypad at each end. It used to play When the saints go marching in when anyone ever scored.
