I did not say Jansen was better than Beckham.I said apart from Beckham, no one in that England squad has as much natural talent as Matt Jansen when he has the ball at his feet apart from Joe Cole who probably wont go to the World Cup anyway.

Jaffa, i've often spoken out about ex-Palace players objectively - if they are pants, regardless of CPFC service, then i'll say so. Matt Jansen is one of the most talented players this club has ever had and the only surprise to me is that it's taken this long for him to get called up.
It's not goal scoring (although he's been unlucky this season), it's his all round play where he is clearly a class above. Jaffa, take a check on his OPTA stats for this season - it's a good guide because they measure everything, and this season in a crap team he's scored as high as:

Owen, Shearer, Di Canio, Kanoute, Pahars, Fowler, Boksic, Phillips, Wiltord, Gudjohnsen, Bergkamp, Viduka, Solskjaer.........to name a few

The only players much higher than the main pack are Henry, Hasselbaink, Van Nistelrooy and Robert.

My sentiments entirely. People forget that he was still a teenager when he signed for us. After Bright and Wright he's certainly the most talented striker we ever had, and he's at the age where he has every chance of having a more illustrious career than those two.
