Tennis betting
Probably about time there was a tennis betting thread for Ozeagle to flex his tennis punting muscles
Karlovic vs Del Potro Big questionmark over Del Potro as to whether he is fit or not. The faster tennis ball will clearly be in Karlovic's favour though he'll lose if JMDP is fully fit, no question. 11/2 with Ladbrokes who are a 1 ball bookie (if JMDP retires during 1st set you win as long as 1 point has been played), 7/1 after comish with Betfair who need one set played before settling on a winner |

My tennis record okish but like I said if fully fit JMDP will win
There was something about it on the BBC, basically not using the Dunlop balls they use for every other clay comp, Murray moaned it might cause injuries but was good for his chances Found this BBC Sport's Jonathan Overend on Twitter: "Verdict on the Babolat balls, replacing Dunlop this year: harder yet lighter, fly like in altitude, particularly in 1st 2 games of use." |

Yeh got on your tip after 1-1 at 13/2 only small stakes. This is how I spend my lectures (well the ones I attend).
Have also backed Mardy Fish to win quite big against Mello.

I think it's good my University days preceded Betfair by a few years!!
Be good if Ivo can edge this set, JMDP might well struggle with a 5 setter |

Haha well I think the bet def has/had a lot of value! If he can hold his serve I can see him winning the tirbreak again. Actually EDIT: looks like it is over now barring a miracle comeback or a recurrence of the injury. To be fair I only put £2 on, whereas a lot more has been lumped on Fishy who has just gone 2-0 up
![]() ![]() Also trying to find value in the matches priced at around 1.4 on the favourites and I feel LLodra at 1.41 may be a good shout or to win 3-0 or 3-1 against Darcis.

Placed a bet on Novak to win all four grand-slams earlier in the season so hoping he can continue his fine form!

thought, given their bona fides and the ability of rank 200 odd-ers to collapse after dropping 2 sets, that Fed under 18.5 games, 1.73 Sportsbet is good value.

'BIGGEST EVER' TENNIS BET PLACED By Andy Schooler William Hill are reporting taking their biggest-ever tennis bet - from a punter trying to win enough money to buy a house. According to the firm, a London-based customer has staked £120,000 on Novak Djokovic to beat Roger Federer in Friday's French Open semi-final. The bet is the 27th in a run of bets from the man, all of which have won so far. They included punts on curling and cage fighting. He started with an £8,400 bet back in March and his pot has since reached £161,000. "Six-figure bets on tennis are so rare as to be almost an endangered species, and in 30-plus years in the business I cannot recall having seen, or even heard of, a tennis bet of this size," said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe. "We can think of no other punter to compare him to - he told staff when he placed his first bet that he hoped to win enough to buy himself a house - well, he can already afford a small place out in the sticks, but a mansion in Mayfair may take a few more winning bets! He is effectively betting the house every time he bets. "The crucial question now is - when will he decide he has won enough and walk away with his house-sized profits?" Djokovic, unbeaten so far this year, is in from 1/3 to 2/7 to win the match with Hills.

Federer is 15/2 to win the tournament on Betfair. Long enough odds to be worth a fiver I thought.
Although Djokovic is on an incredible run and has beaten Federer the last 3 times they've played, Federer's overall record against Djokovic is good, and the faster conditions at RG this year favour his style of play, making a win in the final more likely than before should he get past Djokovic. I'd still expect Novak to win the thing, but at those odds I think it's worth a gamble on the Fed.
