They are only making out we got him because we offered him £200m as a signing on fee, a new house, a fleet of luxury cars, his own staff inc butler, driver and chef, a gold mobile phone, a new pair of boots, and 300k a week, just to make themselves feel better at losing their star player to the rivals!!

yeah, we offered him all that but because he wanted to get away from that rubbish he said he'll accept £50k for signing on and 6k a week He didnt need any convincing!!

Truth be told, after taking into the account the transfer fee, I'll be surprised if Brighton haven't spent more on Hoskins in total then we have on Murray.

Which btw, is a poor signing in my opinion. He isn't a very good footballer at this level. That's not to say he might not come good, but he certainly has failed before at the dizzy heights of Championship football. And yes, I know, I know, Murray is untried and untested.

I have no idea about Hoskins at all.... but genuinely David, 2 employees of BHAfc contradict that figure for Murray you claim, as does a football agent publicly. All 3 of their figures are virtually identical and, "believe you me" it's a little bit more than the figure you quote.....

It matters not to me really, who cares, he's now your player, and who knows what his contract actually said, but all partizanship aside for 1 minute, If the BHA employees are right, and imho they are telling the truth as they know it from the negotations and what has been banded about internally, it seems there is some dodgy info eminating from echelons in your club to try and downplay the real value of Murray's contract.

I can understand why that may be, it serves no purpose to the fans, especially if he isn't a hit, people will only judge him and his goal ratios on the basis of his remuneration, but genuinely David, your offer was allegedly, a lot better than our best offer and a touch North of the figure you quoted.

Mate a £500k purchase ( Hoskins ) on probably about 6k per week for 3 years = just over £1,3m and a Zero yes zilch / nothing purchace and 11k per week = just over £1.5m... I know who I would rather have ... and so do you ... get over it , he's come to a bigger club and you know it

Perhaps he is, perhaps he isn't. And perhaps I'm naive, but from all the noises that CPFC2010 have made, I just can't imagine them offering a player who is only proven at League One level, a £10,000 (or a figure "north" of that) a week contract. They're too smart.

I'll agree that we have almost definitely offered him more then your guys have done, but why exactly would a BHA employee know what Palace have offered to a free agent? It goes without saying that this transfer has had absolutely nothing to do with BHA, so I would certainly take their opinion with a pinch of salt.

The same applies for the football agents opinion. If Glenn Murray's agent had stated so then yes, I would certainly take onboard what he has said, but any old football agent? It's hardly reliable.

I'm being real here for a minute, if you were paying him 50k a week, it wouldn't soften the blow, only signing another top striker will do that, I'm gutted he's gone.

the 2 BHA contacts, quoted a figure being banded about internally..... they were not in the negotiating process directly, but I'm speculating that in these procesess the agent is playing, "club A is offering x versus club B that is offering y..... we need you to offer at least Z to match club A" etc so most clubs in this process will likely know where the others offers stand.

Allegedly Murrays agent is an ex Palace player , we never stood a chance ......

It matters not that you're paying him more than we would, I'll miss his goals and unusual celebration.

Actually, signing a player from another club for no money is known as a free transfer. The best way to corroborate this information would be to check with the BHA accountants and ask how money they made from the transfer. If they say 'nothing', then it checks out.

Signing on fees and wages are immaterial in that fact. I have a sneaky feeling that even players signed for cash might receive a signing on fee, too. Maybe Hoskins had a Bombadier Botty joke book and a tube of KY jelly included in his 'welcome pack'.
