England v Wales 1926........

This one is to give an idea what we could use the ground for in the close season I love this one and its not football.....

To view the link you have to Register or Login

There are other clips on the site of the old ground being used in WW1 by the navy and in 1927 by Corinthians though its tagged Crystal Palace v Newcastle in an F A Cup match.

The England v Wales clip has been posted before and I wondered why some of the players had different coloured shorts on! One in particular was very much brighter than most.

Remember them at Notts County and Sunderland. Rather then just read them out over the tannoy, it was a ploy to sell programmes (in order to get the 'code')

Great photo. But it looks like the place has just been wrecked! Might look like that next season if rebuilding starts. Apart from the Brighton fans (weeds) in the forefront.

Thanks to 'Ruskin Old Boy' for that picture, the first time I've seen Selhurst in that state of build.
Overgrown shrubbery on what became the Holmesdale terrace! Although for many years it was only terraced half way up, with grass banking only further up.
It will be a sad day when the Old Stand is taken down.

The Old Stand won't be taken down, just the roof and supporting columns will be taken away

What remains will become the Main Stand Lower Tier.

It is very similar to what Liverpool are doing, or even 20 years ago, Sheffield Wednesday did.

Great pic BTW Ruskin

Dunno DE, that is 90 + years old, it may be better after building the upper tier to clear the lower remaining structure out and join it up with the same materials to make the structure consistent. The engineers may have a say here in what it can support.
