Disappointed by this move. Would love to see him get a longer run in the side.

Rotherham Mate just emailed me about this. Logged on as thought I might have a scoop but BBS thread already on page 3.
Told him I just can't understand what KC has done wrong and Dougie seems to be the only one who doesn't think he belongs at least near the first team. |

Yep add me to the list who are disappointed with this. We are mid-table, out of both cups, lacking in creativity, yet loan out one of our more creative academy players but keep on Mr Meh from Norwich. Obviously something going on we aren't privy to with Cadogan.

We have a big squad now, i'm happy he's going to get week in week out footy some where, then comes back with a clean slate for next season.
We need to shift some dead wood and bring in a little more quality for next season with a few yoots stepping up.

Playing devils advocate - how many on here have actually seen him play this year? He has made two appearances, both away from home when we probably had 4-500 maybe travelling fans? Can't remember exactly.
Yes - he played well in patches last season but has he really progressed - especially physically, ie has he got the physique for success in the Championship? On the bench question - we only have 5 slots and that would usually be: Keeper Defender Central MF Striker Striker This is not to say he isn't/won't be a good player for us - but has his promise last year become better quality this year? I don't buy the play fringe players argument either - in this league, until you get to around March anything can happen vis a vis play offs or relegation. We need close to 50 points to be sure looking down, and maybe 75 would sneak into the play offs - there is still a great deal to play for and we will be playing the best available team from now until at least Easter.

I saw him play up at Derby and that's it. Think he could have done a job off the bench. |

Hope he does well..
We can't just bring through the 'wonderkids' out of the academy though, they all have a limited time at Palace with the 'big' clubs sniffing around all the time. Palace have got to make sure that the likes of Cadogan make it at the club. Big victim of the reduction to five subs this season..

In this respect I certainly don't think he's any smaller / different than Wilf or Scanners. As stated I have no problem with the effort Calvin Andrew puts in, but either he's a God in all training sessions and bangs in 30 goals a time or we're wasting a spot that someone like Kieron Cadogan could be taking on someone who probably won't be with the club past his current contract and isn't likely to improve the squad either. ![]()

Reason could be that he can't play just in front of our back four, where the other midfielders play! |

Dougie see's him day in, day out in training. He's obviously not doing something right, otherwise he'd be in the sqaud.
This move will be good for him. |
