Yes - he played well in patches last season but has he really progressed - especially physically, ie has he got the physique for success in the Championship?

On the bench question - we only have 5 slots and that would usually be:

Keeper
Defender
Central MF
Striker
Striker

This is not to say he isn't/won't be a good player for us - but has his promise last year become better quality this year? I don't buy the play fringe players argument either - in this league, until you get to around March anything can happen vis a vis play offs or relegation. We need close to 50 points to be sure looking down, and maybe 75 would sneak into the play offs - there is still a great deal to play for and we will be playing the best available team from now until at least Easter.

Also the other question to ask is will he get more games at Rotherham than he will at Palace given that we can only play 5 subs? The answer is yes and if Rotherham don't play him enough he will be recalled.

I'm sure DF knows what he's doing.

I'm sure DF knows what he's doing.

This is very valid - assuming fitness, suspensions etc aren't an impact our team is pretty settled:

Speroni

Clyne (Dumbuya)
Parr (Moxey)
McCarthy
Gardner

KG
Jedinak

Ambrose
Zaha
Scannell/Martin

Murray

You then get a bench where all of these are looking for a place:

Price
Parr/Moxey
Egan
McShane
Marrow
Wright
Parsons
Williams
Garvan
O'Keefe
Easter
Andrew
Iversen
Scannell/Martin
Pedroza
de Silva
Sekejja
Wynter
Maybe even Hills

Even if Cadogan (and Pinney although he isn't due back) were here, he would not start regularly nor even be on the bench regularly unless we start playing a classic 4-4-2 which seems unlikely.

You're probably right about that. The thing is who would you leave off the bench now that nearly all our players are fit?

Let's assume that we play the team at Cardiff then we will have Wright, Moxey, Price, Hills, Easter, Scannell, Williams[very soon hopefully] Garvan and one of Mcshane and Egan competing for 5 places. Even if we don't play Martin and play Easter we still have 8 ahead of him. Even if Hills goes out on loan it's still 7. If we get someone else on loan or buy just one player then it will be 8.

Unless we get a injuries to one of Zaha and Ambrose he's not going to get a look in. We ideally need players on the bench who can play in more than 1 role or who can make a big impact and I'm not sure Cadogan fits either category at present. And if we did I suspect he may even be recalled.

Personally pleased to see him going out on loan as opposed to sitting in the development squad and getting very little game time. Hopefully he will learn, develop & come back a better player for next season as part of the 1st team squad.

I don't understand the constand digging of DF for not playing out & out wingers, when will people realise we are a club progressing from a pretty shite position. Just over a year ago we were leaking goals every week. Through a change of shape, more narrow & 2 defensive midfielders we are now a competitive Championship team.

I'd rather hope fans consider where we have been & where we are heading before digging the manager.

People pay there money as did i for a 2 days in cardiff and have the right to issue valid points on forums, and we respond with not a single shot in target in 120 mins of football, every fan on the train said the same thing we have been sussed 4 5 1 with no one 20 yards near murray ,the ball comes straight back every time we should with our pace let teams worry about us!

And just like you I am entitled to my opinion. I also paid my money for Cardiff as I have done for every game this season.

I personally wouldn't base should Kieron go out on loan or not on 120 minutes at Cardiff & as for clubs sussing our 4-5-1 then you maybe right but still recent results & performances wouldn't say so and that has been whilst we have been resting players.

Duncan Fletcher dropped a 21 year old Graeme Swann for missing the coach. Look at him now!

Players make mistakes and have to grow up. Still should be given a chance if he proves himself at Rotherham.

Just out of interest, what do young players do for accomodation when sent of up north for a few months?

Do the club put them up in a hotel?

Guess so. Just as long as they don't put him in the Holiday Inn in Sheffield where I stayed for survival sunday, never had food poisoning like it, didnt know what end it was going to come out of next.

I am gobsmacked, esp as everyone said how well he played at Blackpool. There clearly has to be a problem somewhere. I just hope he plays so well for them that DF has to give him a go.

And it's no good people saying how we are playing is working, as it very clearly is not any more.

I don't think this formation should prevent us playing wingers. Dougie should have a word with Alex F - he has Nani, Valencia and Giggs all playing v Arsenal last week!

Personally would like to see us give 4-1-4-1 a go now Jedi has settled in. No change in personel needed but hopefully a mindset that gets us more onto the front foot:

-----------------Jedi---------------
Zaha - Ambrose - Scannell - Parr
---------------Murray--------------

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see something like this now Moxey is back.

Stunning to see the level of negativity about this.

A player (for whatever reason the manager has deemed so) only starts 1 first team match in a year. He's being loaned to a club who'll play him often (I assume). Where lies the problem?

Kieron will surely be pleased to get playing, and DF is obviously happy with this too.

The manager doesn't have to justify why he's not picking a player who was never more than a fringe matchday squad player, and that during a mostly horrific spell of losing 3-0 most weeks.

If Kieron is good enough, he can show it a Rotherham.
