US Masters Tipping Competition 2012
It's that time of year again folks, the golf season officially kicks off next weekend 5th-8th April when the first major of the season takes place, the US Masters at Augusta National. Known for it's sheer length, and massively undulating super fast greens we're sure to be in for a massive treat once more, Tiger is finding some form, Rory wants to put right what went so terribly wrong last year, defending champion Charl Schwartzel won't want to give up his title without a fight and the world number 1, Luke Donald, will be as eager as ever to claim his first major championship.

As for our competition, defending US Masters Champion is one of our resident golf professionals richj363, who won it by 2 shots over Flat Noodle last year. Rich was also one of our most consistent tippers last year finishing 3rd overall through all 4 major events.

So, by now, you should know the rules and regulations of the Major Tipping Competitions. But I'll explain the rules anyway for new comers.

How to play >

* Pick 5 golfers > one from EACH of the Groups listed below (ie one golfer from Group A, one golfer from Group B, one golfer from Group C, etc)

* Nominate the winning score in this event (par is 288 so if you think the winning score will be 10 under par, please state 278)

Scoring >

* Each player will have a final score - this will be the sum of their 4 rounds of golf (eg if he scores 66,71,69,73 then total score will be 279)

* your 5 nominated players will have their scores added together - the competition entrant with the lowest overall total after the 4th round will win

* Any player who misses the cut will have his score after 2 rounds doubled (eg if he scores 75, 77... then his total score will be 152 x 2 = 304)

* Playoffs do not count - the scores will be totalled after Round 4

* Any player withdrawing during the event at any time will have a score of 310 allocated to them. Anyone withdrawing prior to the start of the event can be replaced, if the player is not replaced by yourself then this will be treated as a withdrawal. As soon as the opening tee shot is struck then replacements are not allowed. Please make a new post stating that one of your players has withdrawn and who you would like to replace him with.

Tiebreaker >

* If we have entrants with the same score at the end in the TOP 5 ONLY, then a tiebreaker will come into play - this will be whoever is closest to the winning score for the tournament. If it is still tied after that, then it will be the entrant who had the winner amongst his/her 5 picks. If it is still tied after that then it will be whoever posted their entry first.

How to enter >

* Please post your 5 picks (remember, one from EACH group) and your tiebreaker (winning score) before THURS 5th APRIL at 2pm UK time

We had 44 entrants last year, would be good to get double that this year. Seem to remember it being very short notice on selections as well.
