I saw another person sneaking around my garden last night but the police won't come and deal with them.
My neighbour leaves his house at 11pm every night a tours the local charity shops to steal the donations left outside. His nice red van paid for by others generosity and others misery. My next door neighbour sleeps in a hospital bed in his front room as the cancer has made him bedridden. I should ask him what goes on as he seems to see everything. One of the posh houses a few hundred yards away has had another bonfire and burned rubber based materials which have made the air around here whiff awful. The foxes are eating the stale bread i threw out last night. Tiny little things they are.

The locals, as you can see from the photograph, maintain an even tempered disposition even in response to the news that they are in the running to win $50,000...
http://www.thecourier.com.au/news/lo...p/2518825.aspx But it's good news that a local historic building has been restored... http://www.thecourier.com.au/news/lo...l/2521303.aspx ...and there were high jinks at the 150th anniversary of Ballarat Railway Station celebrations... http://www.thecourier.com.au/news/lo...s/2521801.aspx ...why we and the Vic Eagle juniors waited a whole 20 minutes in the queue for the bouncy castle. At which point the juniors decided they weren't that keen to go on it anyway... |

Meanwhile over in Singapore
Singapore Clubs Turn Some Women Away Older women have been turned away. Sometimes, guys under 21. And now, women who do not dress feminine enough for ladies’ night are told to cough up the cover charge. A 20-year-old student, who wants to be known only as Tay, says she was ready for a night of partying at Zirca with her friends on ladies’ night in January. She was in jeans and a checkered shirt, with her short hair spiked up. But outside the club, a bouncer stopped her, asking her to pay the $28 cover charge. “I’m a girl,” she said, and he replied, “I know, but you’re dressed like a man.” http://www.thejakartaglobe.com/lifes...en-away/505566 |

Annual Hanami now over - it's been a little late this year as winter's been a long'un. All quiet in Asagaya itself, although the shopping arcade in the station building's been having a refit and should reopen soon.

Sacramento leaders, Kings fans angry at Maloofs
Quote:
Basically, US sports teams expect stadia to be built for them and the owners of the Sacramento Kings are no different. They expect Sacramento to pay for a new arena so that they can profit from it. With the Kings being Sacramento's only professional sports 'franchise', it doesn't look good for our city. |

The police and fire brigade arrived at our block of flats (although I slept through all of it) for a bit of a domestic disturbance on the first floor early this morning.
It's stopped raining too. |

A couple of people reckon they saw a ghost above the butchers in the village square.
Their is a bit of a village war in the pub at the moment. Basically the barlady, who is also my neighbour, is now together with the butcher, who according to some she has been carrying on with and wrecked his marriage. Apparently she lied and got another barmaid sacked so she could take their hours, and the butcher gave a statement saying he witnessed the theft. She has gone out with a fair few of the village, and now a strange van is parked outside the house, so now looks like the daughter could be following suit. So there are those who beleive one, and those who beleive the other. I personally like the butcher, and he does good meat My car accident is still quite the subject of the village, but Im convinced I was given gaymans blood. Have a real liking for Judy Garland films, and yesterday watched flog it! |

A BALBRIGGAN man was told to 'cut out the drink for a couple of weeks' to pay €400 compensation for criminal damage to a block of apartments. Willam Laurance, (19), 1 Gardinar Hill, Balbriggan, pleaded guilty at Balbriggan District Court to criminal damage, theft and handling stolen goods, and was ordered to carry out 120 hours of community service. The court heard the defendant admitted to handling a stolen 9 carat gold chain worth €580 at Hatton's Goldsmith, Balbriggan on March 18th last year. He was also charged with stealing a case of Miller lager from Spar in Drogheda Street on January 12th, as well as causing €400 worth of damage to the door of Spicer's Mill apartments, Balbriggan on January 27th. Garda Jonathan Kirk gave evidence that the defendant was captured on CCTV walking into the supermarket and leaving with a slab of drink without paying for it. 'He also entered the apartment block with two other males and forced the front door, causing substantial damage of €400,' the court heard. 'He was once again identified on CCTV.' Solicitor for the defendant said that all the offences were as a result of too much drink. 'He was drunk at the time he carried out all the acts of stupidity, and it wouldn't have happened if he wasn't drinking' the court heard. 'He didn't have any money when he went into the Spar and took the slab of drink, and a friend of his lived in the apartments, and when there was no answer, they stupidly forced the outer door, which he deeply regrets.' The defendant is the oldest of 11 children, whose father is in prison. The court was told ' he is good to his mother', giving her at least €20 per week. 'He was employed once in his 19 years repairing tyres, put that only lasted a month,' said the solicitor. 'A man who works with Travellers in the town is going to search garages with him to see if anyone wants him to fix tyres, and he will make a serious effort to gather €400 to pay compensation for the damaged door.' 'If he cut out the drink for a few weeks, he could manage that,' commented Judge Dermot Dempsey, before ordering the defendant to carry out 120 hours of community service in lieu of a four month sentence, to go with an existing similar order. The case was adjourned until May 31st for a report to assess the defendant's suitability for community service.

Last night a grown woman was seen shopping in Iceland wearing pyjamas and a dressing gown. I assumed she was sleep walking until i heard her scream at her daugher 'to hurry the f**k up, cos she's f**king freezing.
I also witnessed an old fiesta being driven, near the parade, at a speed better suited to a motorway. On the way back home young children forced my car to slow down by (delibrately) walking slowly in the road. So to summarise, nothing unusual happened here in picturesque New Addington.

We had a decent sized earth tremor at 1.10am. 6.5 on the Richter. Caused the wife to panic a bit.
