The Bromley Boys Movie
OK Palace friends you may be aware of a very funny book that was written a few years back by Dave Roberts called 'The Bromley Boys'. The story followed a 14 year old Dave through the 1969/70 season in which Bromley FC were dubbed 'the worst team in Britain'

Anyhoo - a feature film is being made of the story and will be directed by Matt Lipsey (Armstrong and Miller, This is Jinsy, Starlings, Little Britain, Saxondale, Psychoville etc...) to be completed early 2013.

... and the screenplay was written by your favourite Away End poster... ME!

Loads of Palace references in the script... and a couple of Brighton ones too!

Promise you'll go and see it next year.

"Very funny" might be stretching it. The book was OK at best. However, being an occasional visitor to Hayes Lane, l wish the film well. As for you.........

Read the book. Was quite good. Who will play Roy Oliver? I met him on the Bromley away bus to Bacillary when I was 16/17. Pretty much told us the whole history of the football club on the way back.

I too met Roy when I visited Hayes Lane last season. What a character.

As for who is going to play him I don't know as casting is happening now. He was the most fun character to write!

I am a web designer by trade but have been writing comedy for a bit. I met the producer of The Bromley Boys on a football film I made a few years back (HERE) and he approached me to write The Bromley Boys...

If it all happens this will be my first 'paid' job and will mean I can concentrate on it as my sole profession a bit more.
