Whoever Dougie chooses for his management team it will be nothing to do with keeping the owners happy. The decision is entirely his. Why would you think that the owners would want to skimp on coaches? We've been nothing but supportive of Dougie.

How does anybody know how good Fleming is? He might be good, he may not be, I'd imagine Dougie has more idea than we do. But if he gets the first team job we will have to get someone else in to run the development squad so I don't see what the problem is.

What has SP got to do with appointing a new coach?

And no one has suggested wee have less coaching capacity, its just who replaces TP

If that happens to be CF, then we'll need to replace him, if not soemone to replace TP directly

I presume CE meant that if we were promoting from within then we would have one less coach (rather than it being any comment on CF's ability).

From the little I know I think that Curtis Fleming would make a very good first team coach. If he is promoted then it will create a very good opportunity for somebody to take on the Develoment Team role. It's a sign of the progress that the Club has made that we have quality from within the Club to potentially take us forward. That said we shouldn't rule out outside appointments either. I see it as a win win really. Nice position to be in.

We'd still need a coach for the Development Squad, promoting somebody doesn't equate to doing away with a role.

I wouldn't think the "owners would want to skimp on coaches", quite the contrary.
But Popovic has the reputation of being an outstanding coach, and our defensive form supports that. Moving Fleming rather than looking for a top-notch replacement for Popo, looks more like compromising on quality, than building a culture of excellence.
