block b 2012 and onwards
Let's try and kick start a bit of positivity in the close season with a push to build on improving the atmosphere and hopefully get some more £££ in for the club through season ticket sales

The home atmosphere for the 2011/2012 was superb and has given Palace fans a great reputation around the UK and even Europe, however next season we want to aim bigger and better.

The first 12 rows are now almost completely sold out but we have been working with Mandy from the box office to create a bigger singing section for next year to build on the ever growing vocal support coming from Blocks A & B filling the seats available in rows 12-20 and front of block C.

1) Our aim right now is to open this up and help any fan that wants to be involved next season, to come down and play their part. Whether you sit elsewhere in the stadium and want this chance to move or are a lapsed season ticket holder.

2) if you're up for this just PM this account with the names and we will sort out all the box office details for you

3) In moving, we don't then expect you to help at banner preparations etc, only to turn up on the day and help increase the vocal presence in the block.

Lets make it a season to remember and create an atmosphere that will far surpass any club in the country week in week out.

Getting block C on it's feet is the key to getting the Hol heard throughout the ground. Without it from most parts the AW and other stands you just see a lot of movement but can't hear much.

Mate before you invite half the holmesdale over to block B, can you just let them know just because there isn't someone in the seat at 2.50 doesn't mean the seat is free, were just not there yet!!

Fair point. The club can only offer its support if fans are in their designated seat (one person per seat), there is no standing in the gangways and there is respect for the stewards (and vica verca of course). Anyway, let's not be negative as this a positive thread that the club supports.

By the way, and I think this has been discussed before, how about we move the advertising boards for the pest controllers and the sausages and you get something HF there instead. I can check what the best deal would be for this and maybe a BBS whip-round would help?

I think you need to drop the whole "Block B" thing. Just talk about the HF. Be nice to see the whole lower tier as part of the same movement, but it will take time to spread out and talking about block b as a thing in itself doesn't help.

Just IMO of course. I don't sit in the lower tier anyway!

As I have mentioned previously on other threads, lest we forget that there is already very sizeable vocal support in that area already right the way through Block A and B. I sit in Row 18 amongst ticket holders who have been going for at least 10 years and, in most cases, far longer.

Let's just make sure that those who get involved here have the right attitude. I think a lot of trouble that has gone on in the past has come down to a lack of respect, by some of those who attach themselves to the HF, and by the stewards. That lack of respect should not extend to those season ticket holders already in the areas you want to 'extend' the singing section to.

For the record, the biggest and most established 'singing section' in the stadium is actually those behind the HFs. I like the contrast between the HF at the front and the old guard at the back. It works well as a dynamic I think.

And I don't want to sound divisive. I appreciate the gesture behind this thread and OP's sentiment is proper.

Great idea – very positive, pro-active action to be taking.

Im sure the chairman, manager and players appreciate it- good luck with this. I’m sure there are fans that have been seeing the passion coming from that section and want to get involved! So it’s good you have opened it up further!

I have moved from Block F to D this season to be a bit nearer (and to save the poor woman who sits in front of me a noisy abuse filled season)
