Euro 2020 to be played across the Continent

Michel Platini has just said that Euro 2020 could be played over 12 cities throughout the whole Europe Continent rather than a host nation(s)

He says low cost airlines across Europe has made this idea possible.

I quite pike this idea despite potential huge distances involved. All participating nations could really feel part of it

This is nonsense. Just wait untill some dubious country offers the UEFA a huge amount of dough under the table. Georgia and Azerbaijan are lodging a bid together, and the latter has a lot of oil reserves. Just like Qatar, that one desert which gets to organise WC 2022. Hmmmm....

One of the best things about a Euros or World Cup is visiting a host city/country, the atmosphere, coming together of football fans from across the world, etc.

The 'powers that be' in football really are wankers. What a stupid idea, Image following your country all over Europe, having to find different places to stay each time. They really have no idea what it's like to be a real football supporter do they.

With the number of countires wanting to host competitions i'm a fan of big tournaments being co or even tri hosted to allow more countries to share in the exprience, as long as they have some historical or cultural similarities. I wouldn't like this plan though, I think each tournament should have it's own identity.

In seriousness though have to fancy Wembly to get it, that way they can argue that everytime we go for a championships and lose as well as getting to have the final at the biggest cash cow possible (as per CL final 2 out of 3 years) without giving is a major tournament.

I quite like it. It'll be annoying for the travilling fans, go play in one country and find out your next game is across the continent. Thinking about it, it's a pretty stupid idea. But imagine if it was the world cup...

You could include countries like Holland, Belguim, Rep of Ireland, Luxemburg, Scotland, Wales, Estonia etc who do not have 10 stadia and could never hold the expanded competition on their own.

I just feel the idea has been born out of the concern that the country(ies) they award it to could be bankrupt by the time it comes to play the tournament. By spreading it around, no major and costly infrastructure work needs to take place, and late switching of venues for individual games easily catered for.
