How are you feeling?
I'm bored with all of this to be honest. I'm bored with the fact that we play defensive, boring "footall," bored with all the negative supporters that are becoming extremely negative, angry at myself for starting to become a negative supporter, bored with what Dougie says to the press, and angry that Parish said (a few months ago) that we have a competitive budget and now all of a sudden there's almost no budget (wtf!?!?).
I'm also bored at the fact that Dougie thinks we can get out of this league by playing one up top... well guess what? When was the last time a team in this division did really well playing with one striker? Exactly. The only way we're getting out of this league is going down atm. Our defence seems shaky, our midfield always loses the ball, and our midfielders and strikers seem to have never heard the words "movement off the ball." It's like Dougie hasn't got them doing the basics. Something needs to change and quick. I don't want this to be a thread about doom and gloom, but more how people really feel about the club right now. If you're still positive about this season then post why you are, and if you're not, why? I've pretty much summed up how I feel right now, over to you ladies and gents. |

I don't care about playing 4-2-3-1. I don't care if it's defensive. But if we are going to play it we need at least three players (and preferably 5) players who can play in the 3.
We have 2 (Zaha and Williams) and Williams is injured. It's disgraceful. It's actually shameful and incompetent. Zaha, on his own again this season.

Thats rubbish as we do have a competitive budget. They have given us an extra 40k a week for players which is on top of the wages previously spent on the outgoing players. DF also has all the transfer money with the exception of the clyne cash. Confirmed by SP on shitter twitter. However, Dougie hasn't spent it and feels to need to be negative to the press. |

Dougie and Parish have recently said that we're working under a tight budget, therefore Parish and co can give Dougie an extra 200k a week in player wages but if he isn't given money to buy players then wtf is the point?! "DF also has all the transfer money with the exception of the clyne cash." Eh? We've only sold Ambrose (250k) and Scanz (about 600k up front), that's not going to get us anyone that'll make us a much better side. It could have got RM but not anymore. No good, attacking player will cost under a million at this level. Last edited by Eagle96 : 11-08-2012 at 09:36 PM. |

I'm bored and frankly fed up of evryone being so sodding miserable and acting like the world has ended. A ball hasn't even been kicked yet for gods sake, I understand some of the frustrations but reading a lot of posts on here you would think there is only a week to go til the end of the season and we were bottom of the league. No wonder the owners are getting fed up with people on at them everyday about transfers and tactics leave them to do their job for Christ sake and get behind the team.
There are still 3 weeks of the transfer window left plenty of time to bring people in so people need to chill out. To many "supporters" are slagging off the club we don't know what goes on on a day to day basis just be patient and wait for the season to actually begin before you start judging the management team and players. This site is fast turning into a place for miserable gits who just want to moan about the club and argue with each other all the time and it's getting boring and pathetic. Rant over

we have zaha and williams so there is still reason for optimism.
pre season has been poor though and every decision the buck stops with the manager from selling our most productive player to failing to sign enough players before the final week again. the 40k extra a week must still be available. id be surprised if ward/wilbraham/martin/ramage plus improved contracts for o'keefe/da silva/williams would have cost more than ambrose/scannell/gardner/andrew/martin/clyne per week. |

We do not know what transfer kitty DF has just its at least the Ambrose and Scannell money. We made an offer to Leeds for McCormack and apparently, according to some we currently have a couple of offers on the table for other players. I think given that we are losing 4m per year the owners have been pretty generous but now its time for Dougie to spend the dosh he does have. |

I have to say as someone who largely follows Palace via the internet and through what people say on the BBS I'm a little fed up with the fans right now. I can't believe how much hysteria there is when no competitive game has been played.
I know we need to sign players and clearly offers are being made, so until the window shuts I'm not judging as transfers are complicated. However so many on here think buying the right player is as easy as going to buy milk. I'm thoroughly tired of hearing people who aren't professionally involved in the sport, who don't train with the players every day and who don't run the club firing off their opinions about whose wrong and how things should be done and who we should sign. If it's that easy then show me your coaching badges then I'll listen. I can't wait for the season to start. There will be dire moments I'm sure. There will also be great ones too. But I'm still going to support my club and enjoy every moment of it, because life with Palace (good or bad) is still better than nothing. EAAAAGLES!!!! How are you feeling?
Perplexed at the overreaction on here. Maybe I could understand it if we lost in our first game (GPD usually goes into overdrive after a loss) but the season has not even started yet.
Palace are always better when people expect them to do nothing as well...

I feel a bit worried, mainly because of the reaction that has become the norm on here & twitter (such polar opposites) & I feel like CPFC2010 may be influenced by the fans' frustrations on here & twitter, when I see no point in getting rid of a manager before he has been given sufficient time to make a squad his own. I'm not saying anyone has said Dougie out, but there are hints of it & little implications around.
I'm also worried cos the OP of this thread is becoming negative. Of all people, dude you're worrying me! As I said on the thread about the game today (which I couldn't make) I still cannot wait to watch Palace on saturday, and am looking forward to the season.

Okay, here's a few reasons why I'm still looking forward to the season.
1. Zaha is the bees knees 2. Williams is the bees bees knees 3. O'Keefe and De Silva are going to be the bees knees 4. Parr is one of the hardest working and committed bees to ever have kicked a football 5. Speroni is the best keeper outside the PL 6. Glenn Murray has to start scoring again soon. 7. Paddy MacCarthy is.... OK, I should have stopped at 6 I know !!
