US Open Golf
Starts this Thursday, having seen the course, I expect the Pros to have a fine time trying to stop the ball on some of those greens and I understand the fairways have been narrowed.

Tiger is odds on favorite, but I have a feeling in my water that it will be yet another journeyman who will win!

I would select anyone from the following three: Tiger, Clarke (my outsider), & Toms.

Only long, straight drivers need apply. Tigger will need to step up his game a little to win. It's a par 70 course, so par 5 holes are in short supply - fewer birdie opportunities for Woods. And his driving length and accuracy stats are down this year. On the other hand he's still right up there on greens in regulation, but down in putting. I'd say it's 50/50 for Tiger/upset surprise winner.

You can get 125/1 on Lee Janzen which I think is a reasonable outside bet. He has won a couple of times before and likes the course.

Of the Europeans I would agree that Darren Clarke looks the most likely.

sergio garcia had a go at the tournament organisers saying that they would have stopped play because of bad weather if the world's no.1 was out on the course.
Sounds like a comment of a frustrated man but there probably a lot of truth in it.

Should be an interesting battle between Tiger and Segio today but I am not sure how much more I can take of Sergio's pre-shot anitcs. 29 separate movements before one swing, averaging out at about 14 or 15. So irritating!

I hate Sergio. Yesterday people were cheering for a shot on another hole and instead of just politely waiting he says "Why can't you people shut up" and then had to whine to an official. Baby. I'd like to kick him in the face with a golf cleat. Whew. Glad to get that off my chest.

Some of those comments were about his girlfriend, who was walking with his group. If anyone thinks it was bad yesterday wait for today.
I assume as Monty did not make it they had to pick on someone. At one point I thought I was watching a Hockey, Basketball, or Football game in New York Maybe I am old fashion, but I do not think there is a need for all this beer talk, most of them are in groups (hey G23 maybe they are 800lb US Gorillas).
