99th League Ground

Having done a count of League grounds, past & present, ive watched Palace at i realised that Exeter was the 99th different ground ive visited.

Today im trying to decide if this is a feat to be proud of or the epitomy of a waste of Saturdays !!!

a couple of times
That's a great effort. I think I'm only on about 70 or so, but I do like to get to non-league when I can. Did go to watch Basingstoke last season as it happens, the friendly v Palace and League game v Dartford.

No it's not a waste - good fun and, if you drive, very educational as you get to know the road network.

I used to go to nearly every away game when I was in my teens and 20s but never totted them up. Seeing as we played in three different divisions in that time it must be a fair few few though - including some that aren't even there anymore (Stoke, Walsall and Shrewsbury for example and the Baseball Ground, which was one of my all time favourites - and Ninian Park, which most definitely wasn't!!).

Is that different teams e.g. If you had been to both the Baseball Ground and Pride Park would you count Derby once or twice?

Massively impressive numbers here. I'm nowhere near 99, probably not even half that, but aim to get there eventually. Good work folks!

This has prompted me to go through all the league tables as a memory aid and tot them up. I reckon I've done 73 in England and Wales plus two in Scotland and two in Italy making 77 (plus Wembley but not sure that really counts in this context). Quite a few more than I remembered don't exist anymore while I guess some would be unrecognisable from when I first visited them - Stamford Bridge for one. Quite a nostalgic last few minutes that has been remembering all those places - bloody hell, how many Palace goals must I have celebrated in all those games (I remembered some right hammerings as well though!!).
