Sealing oven door glass..HOW?!
Ok, here's the conundrum...we have a Zanussi oven, the door is a selaed unit with two pieces of glass on either side... both pieces of glass are INSIDE the sealed unit...the piece on the oven (hot) side of the door has fallen in, come unstuck.

We have tried some heat resistant glue but due to the position of the glass, we cannot get a decent seal to allow the glue to work, we can't remove the door either. Anyone got any ideas? I've tried hitting it with a hammer but that just seemed to make life a lot worse.

If your cooker is only 18 months old and is faulty then it would be worth contacting the supplier regardless of warranty.
Firstly email consumer direct with details of your issue and they will give you a ref number.
Then contact the supplier and tell him about the fault. If he says its out of warranty then inform him that under "the sale of goods act 1979" you want the item repaired or replaced as "It is not fit for purpose".
This normally works but if not then inform him that you have informed consumer direct and that you have a reference number and also that you,ll hand the matter over to them.
Dont let the bastards fob you off.. You paid good money for an item that should last a damn sight longer than 18 months before falling to bits.
Dont bother trying to repair it try and get a replacement.

I managed this repair on my Zanussi oven, but it did involve getting the door off. The secret was to flip up the flanges on top of the hinges using a flat blade screwdriver and then the door and hinges slide out. Then the door unscrews and you can get at the glass to put a decent bead of glue round and get the glass reset. Quite proud of myself on this one as I'm a DIY duffer.
