After bringing in defender Peter Ramage and striker Aaron Wilbraham on free transfers and centre-back Joel Ward from Portsmouth for £400,000, Freedman is keen to bolster his options.

"I am looking but it's very difficult to get the right type [of player] for the right money and the right time," he said.

"By the end of August we should have results."

He's had a difficult summer, at least nobody can accuse him of being reckless with the budget he's been given. Just hope he doesn't panic as the end of the window draws close and ends up with 3 or 4 journeymen just to bolster the squad.

Starts by saying he thinks it will be tough to add but the end of teh quote is that by the end of the window we will have had results.

Strikes me that the journo had a story he wanted to write and has tried to suggest the quotes say something i don't think they do!

hes still a novice manager. hes done nothing that deserves not being backed by the fans yet to me hes not accepted by alot of people.

if all we can achieve is mid table for a few years and some cup runs then so be it. if the budget isnt there and he keeps us up again then id say hes doing a good job

no manager doesnt want to strengthen his side. he wouldnt not sign anyone if he could.

didnt take long for being financially sensible to get on peoples nerves. annoying

Do players and clubs compensation expectations suddenly go sky high when Palace are the enquiring club? Surely the exciting wishlist that Dougie had a few months back would have been based on potential availability, expected costs and budget available...

To me this says our scouting network is not good enough and needs to be addressed ASAP - it's wrong to suggest good players aren't out there at bargain prices. Just look at other club's dealings and you will see this argument blown out of the water.
