Same crap as last season - legendary player - inexperienced & poor manager
Same crap different season - did we even turn up for the 2nd half? Even the first half we were dominated & to end up with 3 def mids at home against an average to poor Watford! Plus ironically we looked so unfit compared to them.

Enough is enough Doog - you're just not ready for this role & it's so so dire to watch!

I would say that he is managerially naive and refuses to change his tactics even f they are clearly not working which begs the quesion what is LL doing their. I am ready to get slated by the DF apologists but he tactically inept at the moment.

First game of the season and we try and hang on for the whole of the second half at home.

I expect people to come and spout the usual shit but can people honestly say they are happy with the progress of the team during DF tenure? Is he another Peter Taylor, club legend but lacking what is needed to manage us and take us forward.

Playing this brand of football is not going to take us forward and you can't really blame people for not going to selhurst to watch it week in week out.

Did say when DF was appointed the fallout would be massive when it started to go wrong. Do not like employing club legends as its splits the fans over whether they should stay or go.

Hopefully this is a wake up call and DF gets us played more offensive minded football.

I've been firmly in the optimist camp but after today's performance I'm seriously worried. The same old defensive tactics that failed last season just shows that Dougie is tactically naive. Serious change is needed.

But don't worry, we're going for it this season. It's going for what that worries me.

I've always wondered how much of it is 'instruction' and how much of it is players sinking deeper and deeper into a 'comfort zone'.

I'm still none the wiser. Feeling deflated this afternoon. Probably will log back on Monday when I've enjoyed a Palace-free Sunday and let most of the anger on here disperse....

I hope he is successful but I also hope that if the decision needs to be taken the CPFC2010 are strong enough to make it before its too late.

It is gutting because I love DF but we cannot go through a whole season playing like this especially at home. CPFC2010 wonder why more people don't come to watch home games, its pretty easy to see why!

I hope he doesn't come out in the press conference and say he was happy with our performance which he usually does, I would prefer it if he just came out ans said we were awful, I got my tactics wrong etc etc. but he won't.
