CPFC2010 Priorities
I believe the actions over the next few days will be a good indicator as to where the priorities are for CPFC2010.
I recognise that as a fan I have an entitlement to an opinion but the owners who have had the guts to put their own money in to this club (saving it's very existence in the process) have the right to make the actual decisions. The 2 may not wholly concur but it is not my money and I respect all that goes with that scenario. In a business in which results seem to be all important it would be hard to make a reasoned argument that the managerial tenure of DF is anything but fragile.............Poor form over several months, coupled with poor results and a playing style that is clearly anything but value for money for the supporters has to raise the question of is there another way? Few can argue that our current situation would suggest anything else but a highly probable fight against relegation to division 1. We have a paper thin squad, higely lacking in confidence, self belief and playing as if total strangers with little creativity, organisation or invention. This situation which has its roots firmly embedded from the start of the calendar year and has to be addressed one way or another..........and will only be addressed with a very clear list of priorities. So the question has to be asked as to what is the priority? Is the priority to stay finacially afloat (in the short term) at all costs which includes relegation to a lower division if needs be. Or is the priority to at the very least stay in the championship at some significant cost? All indicators so far including the appointment of DF, the selling of several important players and the lack of expenditure in the transfer window all point to the priorty of financial stability...at whatever costs to the success on the field of play. That has to be the perogative of those in charge and has to be respected no matter how unpallateable that is to fans. If however the priority is to a) Give us every chance of staying in the 2nd top league b) Even push for a higher level Then something clearly has to change If the Board believe that the players are good enough then the solution has to be in replacing the management.......NOW If the board believe that the players are not good enough but the management is good enough then full backing in all areas (including financially) must be given NOW As I say the real priority of the board will be very apparant in the next few days.......and as fans I think we need to respect their right to make it....and as fans we have the right to have our opinions |

Why does everyone who has an opinion on this need to start a new thread? The same things are being discussed in numerous threads now.

The Board's opinions of the players is utterly irrelevant; they appoint the manager and his team to make those decisions.
If they think the players are not living up to what the manager promised, then it is the manager's head on the line. You want a Board that interferes with the Club Manager? I don't.

Realistically? Probably because they feel strong enough about whatever the subject is & what to more or less guarantee that their post will be read. A new thread has a much higher chance of being read, on the hope, ironically, that isn't going on about the same stuff 373 other threads are. Posting it on one of those other threads, that people most have already got bored with & the fear, probably, is that it will be missed. JAT.

I think that, first and foremost, CPFC2010's priority should be to appease every single Palace fan that posts on the internet. All of them. Twice.

But the speech about this particular subject has become boring, predictable and is just rants from whingers. I purposefully haven't looked at these threads as I hear enough of this whinging up in the Holmesdale. So James has a point, why can't all the misery threads be amalgamated into one big misery fest thread!

I think CPFC2010's lowest priority should be to read threads like this one.
Just my opinion and all. |

We are all concerned and everyone has the right to express their worries but some have just gone completely over the top with their increasingly aggressive negativity. Make your point in a reasoned way with constructive suggestions but is it necessary to make the same point over and over again? The attitude of some of our fans is getting increasingly unpleasant, repetitive and negative. I think the management have got the message by now.
