Get knocked out of league cup tues please
For the greater good i hope we go out on tues , i know people say winning breeds confidence but our squad is not strong enough for a run in this cup and we need to concentrate on the league. The cup was a major reason for a decline last season and if we hadnt of had a good start we would of been caught out at the end.
Am i the only one who wont loose any sleep if we get beat or play a weak x1 |

I'd rather us get a win Tuesday, then draw a big side in the next round & see we're it takes us. Or just play all the kids, I just want us to win a game & play some great attacking football.

Its got to be a training match for us i think. Dont get me wrong, last season’s trip to old Trafford was truly epic. My first game in over a year, my mrs’s first footie game, knocking man utd out, first trip to old Trafford, the best goal i have ever been lucky enough to be right in front of and just an all round ‘this is why i love football’ moment.
BUT... bigger fish to fry. Team should be picked to our requirements so... any players that could do with game time for fitness... in. If we pick up a signing or two before then... in. The defence... well, is paddy expected back? If so in with the back 4 dougie has in mind to give them some time to gel with less pressure. Experimental attacking crazyness.. yes please.

Quite happy if we get knocked out to be honest, we have a small squad really and injuries could be costly and more likely whilst players are ramping up their fitness.

This is the match for DF to try out a few formations and tactics with the new signings. If we lose it will not be a big deal, as if ever there was a season where we should concentrate on the league, it is going to be this one.

Play a weak team, but try to win. Losing is never fun.

Happy to get knocked out. Couldn't care less about the cup at the moment.

I would actually take a different approach.
Play the strongest team possible and hope we get a good win. We are a team at the moment that is desperate for a win. We need to use this game as another opportunity to become more cohesive and develop a better understanding of eachother as a team. However, I think this will more likely be a run out for the fringe players, and maybe some of the players who are coming back from injury (Paddy, Murray, Joniesta, if they are ready).

Doesn't matter my arse! Like a defeat will be good for the team?? Great chance to kick-start the season, and maybe get a cup run. People seem to have very, very short memories on here.

Williams had only really played a handful of games before the League Cup run last season but he really blossomed in the cup up until the injury - would be great if another youngster came through as part of their development
Also good opportunity to try another CB partnership - this one aint working

Utter bollox was cause of major decline last season that was purely down to shocking tactics. Mix team up a bit and include the two attackers n wilbraham so they gel abit.

Yeah, cos losing to Preston would be good for morale right?
Jesus, you people. Let's go up there, put a strong team out, and beat them 2 or 3 nil.

I cant see us progressing far this year in the cups.We had a big squad last year, with alot of decent fringe players. We are not as strong at the moment and with the under 21 league etc,it will be hard for us to put out a highly competitive squad at every level.

Don't get knocked out, use it to kick start season, kind of opposite to what getting knocked out in sf last year did.

**** off. I always want Palace to win. We can play the kids if we have to, but who the hell ever "wants" to lose?

Quite. The BBS is baffling at the moment. And Harry Monk appears to have gone from unsuccessful 'insider' to full time grumpy doom monger.

Winning???? Since when has that been any good for morale?? No, we need to get beat, 4or 5 would do nicely and set us up for Sheff. Wed. Simple!

No way ! This is a great opportunity to change the CB pairing and try to score more goals. A win will lift confidence and a decent draw in the next round will be a motivator for the players and fans.
