Blake, Bolasie, Moritz, Delaney, Zaha, Garvan and Murray all sounded like they had very good games.

Infinitely better than we have been, second half anyway. Murray excellent all game...as I've constantly said if you give him service he will score and with balanced wings with zaha and Bolasie you've got that! Both had an assist today.
Thought Moritz was close second Mom. Calm on the ball, spreads it well, good vision and wins the ball in the air and ground. Rather start with him than Garvan easy. Delaney great too, got stuck in and good in the air jus what we needed!!!! |

Absolutely. 9s to these players and 8 to everyone else. That is probably as well as I've seen Murray play. |

In fairness, it didn't look like a pen. where I was.
But how nice to see Palace not go defensive for the last 40.

Encouraging, no way near the finished article but promising so far. Darcy and Delaney look solid, bolassie looks like a poor mans zaha but still decent, Brazilian dude looks quality. Front 4 look dangerous when we attack.
Garvan was excellent. Goodwillie looked a bit rusty but good to see us go 442 when called for. Jedinaks beard gave him the authority a captain needs. Really good to see Murray get a couple too, loved his celebration for the second. Ref seemed okay but then became an incompetent little twat. 2 weeks off now will give the lads time to gel and hopefully march up the table. Also great to celebrate a goal so much it gives you a headache afterwards ![]()

A few observations:
Moritz: looked class and linked up with bolasie well. Great touch and some good flicks - can tell he's brazilian. Look forward to seeing more of him - could be a key player for us Murray: best game I've seen him play for a long time - took both chances he had very well and looks a lot sharper than last season. Still could do with a nippy striker next to him. Need to keep him fit. Bolasie: very shrewd bit of business by dougie - a sort of zaha-lite type of player. More impressive than zaha in the first half and manage to get some dangerous balls into the box. Adds natural balance to the side having a winger on each flank. Goodwillie: could come good and let's give him a chance to get fit. Looked off the pace today (maybe a bit overweight?) although managed to get in some good positions. Needs to be in better shape to start games for us I'm afraid. Looks like one up front for now. Jed-van: formed a good partnership in the middle with Jedi breaking up play and doing the simple stuff with Garvan spreading the ball around. Garvan looked surprising mobile (relative to usual) Defence: relatively solid and better organised than previous.Their dead ball guy whipped in very good corners - that said, we shouldn't be conceding from these !? On average a premier league side concedes from a corner every 45-50 games, whilst we're conceding every game ! Looks like dougie's getting the defence organised now so I reckon we'll be a lot harder to beat. Well done dougie on going for a more attacking formation as the game was a darn sight more entertaining than some of the tosh from last season. Looking forward to the next match! N |

It wasn't a penalty, they won the ball. However, it should have been a drop ball following it instead of giving it back to "But Mr Linesman" Kirkland.

Well done to Dougie and the players. Onwards and upwards. Still think we will come good and finish near the play offs if the team can gel and keep playing like that.
Egg on the face of the boo boys calling for Dougies head so early in the season. |

Such a difference from anything we've seen recently. Delaney was a class act at the back and it made such a difference to have someone of his experience along that back 4, very vocal as well.
Thought Moritz looked extremely good, showed great touch and intelligence. Think he will be more effective than Ambrose. Zaha and Bolaise gave us genuine balance which hasn't happened for a fvery long time. Murray worked like a trojan today and was rewarded for it with 2 poachers finishes, even though the 2nd seemed to take an age to hit the back of the net. As for the pen incident, first instinct was that it was a well timed tackle. Bizzare decision to restart play with sheff weds free kick though. After this the game became unreffable - anything 50/50 was going to go our way. He also missed a blatant back pass before the pen. |

Oh how we've missed Murray, great defensively and a great poacher in and around the six yard box, he will score goals with our new system.
The new boys looked great, Bolasie looks dangerous on the ball and has a great engine and work rate. Moritz is a classy player, just oozes of Brazil, first touch is great, 2 footed and it took him 40 minutes to misplace his first pass. Delaney is what we've missed, experience at the back and hes a unit! Got a lot of fight in him. Blake looked very capable as well, assume he was injured? Even Ramage was good today, good in the air, still loves a hoof though. Only bad player I thought was out there today was Parr, and that was only at LB, looked much better RB. Garvan was impressive as ever this season, got stuck in, won his bit in the air and good distribution. I love the new shape of our team, 2 dangerous wingers with a good attacking 2 in Murray and Moritz.
