Evening all, for those who've had it or maybe calne eagle can kindly answer , how long have I got to suffer this crap?. Started bout week ago reluctantly went docs on the fri and have got this week off.

2 - 3 weeks, once the blisters go down it stops hurting as much. Been there and it fooking stings !!

Thanks for the replys and sympathy lol , it does bloody sting/ hurt badly at times and I notice one minute your not too bad energy wise then next your struggling big time.

It is a virus, but you dont "catch" it as shingles It is reactivation of the chicken pox (herpes zoster) virus which stays in the system for life It tends to reactivate from middle age in people who are run down or immunodepressed But heyIi guess you can get all this info from the internet Strong painkillers are usually required, often a morphine analogue Hope that helps

I had mine for 2-3 weeks when I was 22-23. Very painful, thankfully only on my back and chest / stomach, was very run down and stresssed. Nearly 10 years on, no re-occurences (not even as a result of when watching Wednesday vs. Palace which sent Wednesday down!!)

Big Bird is playing for a contract
I had shingles about ten years ago and thought it would not be to bad, sadly I was wrong, make sure you take tablets doctor gives you and take rest as shingles normally hits you when your at a low ebb. Took me about four weeks to get over.

Many thanks yes taking Meds but might ask for other pain killers. I walked dog for twenty mins other day n when I got bk you'd of thought I'd done marathon lol.
