458 John Peel Shows on Soundcloud.
http://soundcloud.com/das-boy/sets/john-peel-show/
Some nice chap's uploaded 900 hours of Peel to soundcloud. Starts with the last few Perfumed Gardens and goes right up to October 2004. There's already some really good Peel archives out there but this is a pretty good way to spend a month. EDIT: Set no longer available, but the shows are still up http://soundcloud.com/tracks/search?...eel+Show+%2BdB

John Peel was one of my greatest musical influences.
Gonna have to look into that site

Brilliant ... have added to my favourites so I can dip in and listen when the mood gets me..
First one I go to has The Damned as live guests (1976.12.10). So far already played Iggy Pop, Eddie and the hot Rods... am actually feeling like when I listened to him live on the radio..that tingling excitement of what will he play next? and then going that is shit or that is good and trying to make sure I did not miss the bands name (which was easy on a crackling radio).. Neat, Neat, Neat |

Brilliant!
John Peel regularly accompanied me during my O and A level years in the late 70s. I used to record the sessions on the krap cassette player I had at the time. |

Just pulled up the bookmark to have a listen to another show and it seems to have been taken down.
On further investigation, it's just the 'set' that's no longer there, the individual tracks are still up. http://soundcloud.com/search?q[f...20Show%20%2BdB Phew. ![]()

A website I recently discovered is 'The Space' which is archiving Peel's record collection.
It also has loads of other Peel related stuff; http://thespace.org/items/s000004u
