Going to be tough to beat the Yanks on their own turf this year and with a lot of their team playing good golf at the moment. We have a good side but I'm a bit worried that too many of them are too streaky and not in the best of form at the moment.

Really looking forward to it. Going to be a close one as the Americans have their strongest side for a while. Could be a draw.
I see the sky coverage starts at 12:30 but does anyone know what time the 1st tee off is uk time?

America would win I would think, and I am not sure it is going to be close.

Long weekend off and can't wait. Cleared it with the wife and it will be the whole weekend of playing in the morning in the scramble comps, then into the bar for football results then the Ryder cup later on. Luckily i've got someone to take the kids football training that weekend.
Would love to see us win in their own back yard but they look seriously strong and i'll imagine they're desperate to win it back. Not sure we'll have a big enough lead if at all going into the singles, which is where the US come into their own. Heart say Europe, head says US, can i get of the fence yet?

I really like the US team, some really strong golfers in there who have played well this year. Our team is good, no doubt about that but with the exception of Rors, not many of them have really done a great deal this year, they should have begged Carl Petterson to join the European Tour and got that guy on our team, could be a big mistake.

) and 2 wildcards, whereas the US pick 4 wildcards. With only 2 wildcards to pick from i suppose there wasn't room for Carl as you've really got to go with Colsaerts who has had an excellent year, and Poulter who just loves the Ryder Cup. Although Kaymer was an automatic pick and finished above Colsaerts in both standings, don't know how as i haven't noticed him do a single thing this year unless i missed something?

I agree with Rich - our players are in excellent form at the moment - McIlroy, Hansen, Westwood (looking strong again) Poulter, Rose, Garcia etc. The only one I worry about is Kaymer who looks very out of sorts, and, to a degree, Donald who has been in a bit of a lull.
I also think the number of players in the Fedex from Europe will help as well. I think it will be tight, but I would expect us to win by a couple of points - helped by the fact that Woods never seems to play his best and Bubba is just totally out of form - far worse than Kaymer, especially on the greens where the Cup will be won - can't see him getting too many clutch putts the way he is playing today. On Petterson - would have been a really bad choice. Never really played in Europe nor shown any interest in playing here, plus the fact he hasn't played well since the start of the year. Brian Davies the same. The one totally US based player I might have been Laird.

Kaymer played very well in the BMW the other day. striking the ball very well. Putter let him down a shade but that will come, hopefully in a pressure position we will see the best of him |

Expecting a European win.
Too many of the americans are on dodgy form. e.g. there'll never get 3 good days out of Dustin Johnson. My worries for Europe are Kaymer, Colsaerts short game. Also I really hope Paul Lawie gets his driving sorted, his short game at the mo is excellent. I wonder what dirty tricks the yanks will bring to Chicago?

Not sure in that Swanny, for Europe (main tour events): McIroy 4 wins Lawrie & Donald 2 wins Rose, Garcia, Westwood Colsaerts, Hansen, Molinari 1 win Kaymer, McDowell & Poulter haven't won but Poults was top 10 in 3 Majors and McDowell has lowest finish of 12th in the Majors this year, with a 2nd and 4th. For the US: Woods 3 wins Dufner & Zach 2 wins All the others bar Furyk one win each Very good match up I think, but I reckon the Europeans are in the better form overall.

I bet Kaymer plays brilliantly. A different type of mindset the Ryder cup gives will probably help his game.

By far the best and strongest European team ever. No weak links, only one rookie (and he hits it a million miles) and players in form.
Would never have picked Petterson, unproven and basically an american player. Cannot believe the bookies have us as underdogs.

6 hour difference so if, as I expect, it will tee off at 7.00am local time then expect a 1.00pm start.

Europe all the way although i think it will be pretty close, 2-3 points in it. How good would it be if Rory and Tiger end up playing against each other in the singles and Rory give him a good hiding. Can't wait for it to start.
COME ON EUROPE |
