Palace v Burnley ratings
If today doesn't bring back fans then I don't know what will! The attacking side and footballing side to this team is the best I have seen in a few seasons since Sinclair and Moses. The best thing about this team is that they don't know when they're beat. The commitment and spirit of this team is great, you can see it, players like Murray and Ramage get the boys going as well as Jedinak and Moxey etc. Murray is a different player this season. Wilf just makes me laugh, all you can do is laugh, just beats players with ease. He did annoy me in the second half though twice when he should of passed to Murray on two occasions. When everyone thought is was a penalty in the second half he should of passed to Murray who could have tapped it in. He can change games for us like today but today I think he nearly cost us the game too when he shouldn't passed for Murray to finish and he didn't and Burnley went up and scored. Think we are conceding more than what we should be and think Paddy and Gabbidon will even things up
Speroni - 6, not much he could do with the goals I think but I'm not sure if the second one was emanated or not. Great finish though Blake - 6, tidy player, didn't do much wrong but I think the first goal he could of headed the ball out further but hey ho Delaney - 7, no nonsense defender, great finish, slipped up for Burnleys 3rd Ramage - 7, thought he was the best defender today, played really well for me. One of the best games he has had I think Moxey - 6, energetic as usual, got forward well Jedinak - 8, brilliant. Wins every single header, passing was great, so so strong. KG - 7, great break up play today, tackled well, got forward well, passed well Zaha - 9, unplayable at times. Two good finishes. Could pass more in better positions like the Bolton game Moritz - 8, what an amazing through ball for Zahas first. Great attacker, great touch, just great, what a find Bolasie - 8, just as exciting as Zaha. Loves running at players, good game Murray - 9, brilliant. Ran the line well, held things up, won headers. Great finish. You can tell he is enjoying being at Place right now Last edited by carter : 06-10-2012 at 06:50 PM. |

I love this team. Geezers.
Special mention to Wilf and Moritz who dished out some lovely passes. Felt sorry for Jules at their first goal, was a great save that tipped the initial shot on to the post.

Murray, Zaha, KG, Jedi and Moritz were incredible today - did their jobs perfectly. Delighted for Wilf getting another two goals, also pleased that Murray got the goal his performance deserved. Zaha has 4 in 2 now. Glenn has 7 in 7

Interesting, I thought Ramage was all over the place once he moved to right back.

Great performance. We froze a little when they attacked though and there were a few occasions where we could have cleared but each defender was relying on the other to clear. That is due to repeated shuffling of the backline. I don't want to be critical of Dougie though, he has a lot of good players pushing for starts but after today he needs to pick the best 4 and stick with it bar injuries and suspensions. Attacking play was great. Moritz deserved his ovation. Zaha was great. How William's got that cross in for the goal, I'll never know (great sub). I hope he's ok. Burnley are a bunch of thugs. We are ahead of Brighton

Moritz and Wilf were awesome today.
What a find Moritz is.

I still say this is the most entertaining (not the best, but the best to watch) Palace side for years. A bit shaky at the end but hey, they can win 4-3, 7-6 or whatever every week if they play like that.

A incredible performance after a sloppy start. I wouldn't say we deserved to be 2-0 down, but its not like we deserved to be ahead either. We looked slightly flat, but we certainly saved all our efforts for the second half, where we were simply superb.
I was slightly confused to why Ramage was in and Blake moved to right back. He was pretty dire there and was at fault for their opener. His headed clearence was woeful. Their second goal looked a worldy from where I was in Block B. Not sure he meant it or not, but Speroni has no chance. The height and weight was perfect. Moritz's pass to Zaha for our first was sublime; one of the best passes I have seen a Palace player make. Zaha pulled wide and created the space by bringing their right back with him, and Moritz slotted a perfect pass inbetween the space between their right back and centre back. Wilf showed incredible pace to get onto it and was very composed in his finish. The half time entertainment was mixed; the dancers were good but the X Factor rejects were dreadful! Ok; second half. We were brilliant. We dominated and tore them apart. Wilf's second was a delight. Got their right back caught inside out, cut inside and drilled a lovely low show straight at Grant. He didn't stand a chance. The third came out of nothing, as Moxey's cross was over hit, but Joniesta somehow managed to 1) Bring it down as a near impossible again 2) Feed it into the box. Delaney got on the end of it and BANG, 3-2. Lovely ![]() The fourth was a deserved goal for the outstanding Glenn Murray. Lovely overlapping run down the left (Can't remember if it was Parr to Moxey or the other way round?) and Murray was at the near post to tap it home. Beauty. Their third looked a tad lucky as Blake, much better at centre back in the second half, slipped and Austin wasn't going to miss. This team is going places. Yes, we are not the finished article, but we are devestating going forward. My main mentions: Moritz - When this guy is on, along with Zaha, I would go as far as saying we are unplayable at the moment. Zaha - Oh boy. At times, sensational. Scary part is he wasn't perfect today and made some poor decisions at times. Murray - My MOTM. Lead the line, linked up the play superbly, worked his arse off. Deserved his goal. Jedi - First half he was sloopy, second half near imperious. KG - Loving this KG. He is as good as you will find in this league in this position at the moment. Dougie - Smart decision to switch round Ramage and Blake, and subs all made an impact. If we continue on like this, then crikey, the dream is on. I'm starting to believe...

Passed a Burnley fan after the game. He was screaming into his mobile "No one was marking Zaha". Correction, no one CAN mark Zaha

Aside from the obvious plaudits and outstanding performances from Zaha and Moritz, two specific moments stood out for me:
The delicious Moritz pass for the first Zaha goal. The immaculate, outstanding touch of Williams, arriving at pace, at the back post ahead of the third goal. Absolutely sublime - technique that is well out of place in the Championship, generally speaking. Our defending was awful today. The combination of Ward/Blake/Delaney/Moxey or Parr was doing excellently; Ramage hadn't done anything this season to warrant his recall today. I think today was also another reminder that defensively, Parsons is probably our best left-back. Touch wood for the injuries picked up by Williams and Zaha - again both given really rough stuff (by players who are made to look stupid time and time again - the Burnley full-backs were getting so wound up today) with zero referee protection (including another definite penalty not given for a foul on Zaha). |

I agree Ramage was terrible in the first half when he moved to right back he did better but I don't understand why he came back into the team. But whatever we played much better again in the second half the counter attacking was brilliant cracking win cracking game onwards and upwards.

I don't there are many if any teams in this league that have players capable of dealing with him. He is becoming THAT good.

One more comment with me:
While Zaha brings me the most joy to watch, Moritz is an absolutely sensational player. Technically superb. |

Ramage can't be an 8.

Blake was abysmal at right back, as he was against Cardiff, hence he was moved back to centre half
Ward is a far better opion there, and Blake did ok at Centre back again We scored 3 great goals and 1 decent one but gave up 3 comedy goals with poor defending Some great passing from Moritz for the 1st 2 and good play from Williams for the 3rd goal Murray and Wilf were exceptionally good today

I like some things about Ramage, he has a cool head and bundles of experience but, for me at least, he is the weakest defender in the first 11
