Chamberlain better than Zaha?
Is Chamberlain a better player than Zaha right Now? Is he a better prospect for Rio 2014?
Who is more likely to be the better prospect in 12 months? I admire Chamberlains movement especially off the ball and invention when in possession especially in tight spaces but is he really any better than Zaha? His main weakness for me is his passing which far too often results in loss possession or players recieving passes that are not ideal in weight or direction again resulting in either loss of possession or at the very best attacking momentum.......and he seems to of lost a little bit of the directness in his play that made him stand out as a very young player 6 years back. Zaha is not the finished article but his speed of foot both out and in possession and his cutting edge which he is developing all the time along with his increasing awareness of other players makes him for me a far better prospect.... Am I being blinded by my bias? |

Different players but Zaha would be better in this England team imo, no player can take on players like Zaha. England made a big mistake missing out on Moses

Agreed. I don't think Zaha is ready for England yet but I thought last night he was exactly what we needed - someone who can beat a man without relying on a fair amount of space behind like Walcott or AOC. If the U21s had been playing San Marino I think Wilf would have had a field day If Moses could have been swayed to play for England then we've definitely missed a trick there, England have lacked players of that ilk for years and he'd give us a different option. Looks like we're gonna have to keep producing a few more to drag the national team forwards! IMO AOC is a better finisher than Wilf and has the advantage of premier league, international and champions league experience. If Wilf continues to progress the way he is at the moment it's scary how good he could become and I think he will be the more exciting to watch in the future |

Chamberlain has more proven quality, that is all we can say for sure at this stage.

Different types of player. AOC is a better finisher imo, although it does appear Wilf is improving no end in that department

Pretty simple why Ox played and Zaha didn't. Ox plays for Arsenal.

This. If Zaha was with the Arse he would be in the team. |

Chamberlain is an excellent player, and is currently more proven and better than Wilf. Will that remain the case? Who knows.

My thoughts too. Zaha has proven himself in the Championship so far. AOC has proven himself in the Premier League, Champions League and as an international. Not that Zaha isn't, but I also think AOC comes across as a really nice genuine person. Anyone who says players don't care about playing for England - look at AOC reaction after his goal last night.

why does the Ox play for Arsenal and Wilf not? Ox played because he has experience in big top flight matches, champions league games etc. He is a more rounded and better player than wilf at this moment in time. Wilf has attributes the ox doesnt though. Not sure he has the football intelligence of AOC at the minute

England are far too predictable ... if they are going to keep the ball then they need to watch Spain / Germany more closely. Last night it was safe passing in the last third when there was only the slightest pressure ... easy for even for San Marino to defend against. If teams don't get tight to Wilf he'll turn and use trickery to take one / two / three defenders on .... different player to AOC ... a unique English talent imo.

Ox is a really good player and was the main spark for the first 70 odd mins of the game yesterday until he looked a bit knackered towards the end. A refreshingly direct player whereas Wilf has a very different style but at this stage Alex is a more effective and better footballer than Zaha.
Zaha is much more entertaining though and has the potential to end up better

Does Wilf actually want to play for England? Has he said anything about it?

dont be silly, its quite obvious AOC is a better player right now, he can play out wide, up front or in the centre of midfield, he is stronger a better finisher and has more experience
