Just move in. Worry about the rebuild later. Greenwich leisure will be delighted someone will pick up the running costs.

Do you know what the plans for the athletics stadium are now they've lost the diamond league? Maybe our reserves could play there?

Just put 5,000 new seats over the middle of the main stand, in a similar shape to the Emirates Stadium. Behind that stand is the car park, so no neighbours can complain of being overshadowed. Thus taking Selhurst to a 31,000 seater.

Job done. Use the Zaha money.

just put the bulk of the new seats over both sides of the Halfway line. Forget about new seats in the corners. As in the photo

Why would people buy a house near a park with sports facilities, complain about sports being held there?

Will the Zaha money be used towards rebuilding the ground or is it purely on promotion at the moment?

That's a tease.... Are we likely to see plans by season end or is this still dependant on talks with a certain supermarket?

Might be worth making some sort of statement to the press that the majority of the money will be going towards the infrastructure of the club, so as to try and bring down transfer prices and expectations (GF would've spent it all for you already if you gave him a chance!).

Just to put you straight, I have consistently advocated only loans at present. I didn't feel we needed the WZ money right now. I feel we have enough, with loans, for automatic promotion, and that then the Zaha money makes little difference (I believe we have the best midfield and the best attack in the division at the moment). If it was me, I'd keep the majority of the powder dry till the summer. (I advocated spending big on 1 quality wide player in close season and the previous Jan because I felt we were one player away from challenging for promotion. The fact that the 1 quality wide player Bolasie, even if he cost very little, has turned us around I think proves me right.)

I also think the current stadium is fine for non-Premiership football (looking at attendances). It would almost certainly be enough for Premiership football as well - 4m extra per season if we're in the Premiership (calculated on 20 and 10,000 extra seats) is peanuts. I'd be inclined to wait 10 years for Crystal Palace Park, as I feel the money at present is better served investing in the first team and the academy - especially with new TV rights increases coming up. I also think you're more likely to get a massive boost in attendances with a completely new stadium than with a re-developed one, but I could be wrong - as I am about most things!

Having said that, the idea of a new Selhurst Park is certainly exciting. I'd be interested to know if it could lead to a different shape pitch (wider and shorter) if we keep the Holmesdale Stand, and how Olly would feel about that? I assume it's good to have the Selhurst project on the go to put pressure on the council involved with Crystal Palace project.

Exciting times ahead either way

The highlighted section is demonstrably wrong, here is just one of many examples:-

There are tons of them if anyone could be arsed to to check.

Experience on the BBS suggests that if you do the complete opposite to anything GF proposes then you won't go far wrong.

Listening to the podcast I note that SP mentioned about the Main stand being rebuilt before the AW, as this would bring in more revenue. I really would urge you to look at rebuilding the AW first before the Main stand, as I think the current state of it is costing the club new fans.

The base of the AW stand is already there so all you need to do is tidy it up and build on top of it. Even with height restrictions I'm convinced you could include a mini second tier plus exec boxes to both increase overall capacity and revenue, as well as join it the roof onto the Holmesdale. There would also be potential to fill in the Holmesdale corner with seats to round it off and add further capacity if required.

Do the 4 of you discuss this at all or is it all left to SP?

Listening to Steve Parish on the HOL show this evening, he appears to feel that developing the Main Stand may be the way to have a really positive effect on income, if we were to stay at Selhurst.
With this in mind, has any consideration been given to moving the main stand function (dressing rooms, offices, press and hospitality facilities to a new stand on the Arthur footprint?
I haven't seen a ground plan of the ground, but it's always struck me that the space available on the Arthur site, especially if you include the two corner areas that are underdeveloped at present, is far greater than on the current main stand site.
The added advantage would be that the club would not lose the current facilities, and revenue generating opportunities, until the new stand had been completed.
I should also imagine that the physical position of the Arthur, Mainly below the road and house level, might help with planning.
Any thoughts?

Using the Arthur would be a problem as there is no room for a car park, I doubt the players, directors etc would want to park in the car park then have to walk around the ground to get in.
I would like to to stay at Selhurst rather than move to CPP. However,I can see us having alot of problems with planing permission and local objections. The area has changed in the last 15 years since the Holmsdale, the club are going to have to look very closely at the possible effect the new plans will ahve on the local area.
On a side issue, most of the free tickets and cheap promotional tickets the club gives out are always in the Arthur, I do believe although the football is what they should come for, alot of people would be put off coming back due to the poor facilties in that stand.

I've already posted similar thoughts on the Hol Radio thread concerning Steve P's thoughts on Redeveloping Selhurst Park or still possibly being interested in moving back into CP Park.

My thoughts are to keep both options open - press ahead and partly redevelop SP one stnad at a time (it now seems obvious that the Main Stand is the starting point in terms of increasing revenue) - but increase CPFC's presence at CP Park - noted that our Academy already use facilities there and have the all-weather Dome and also Palace Ladies team using the NSC pitch.

Not sure if it's viable to use CP Park as our new Training HQ (possibly not enough space to build sufficient pitches on land available at present?) - but getting a foothold at CP Park would mean CPFC would have established a prsence in the Pak and could procced over a number of years to gradually get planning permision to build a bigger Stadium there in future.

Still some way off, but in the next ten years, CP Park has been earmarked to be joined to the existing Croydon Tramlink - which would make it far more accessable for existing supporters and bring in possible new ones - in the meantime, Palace could redevelop SP whilst trying to gain planning permission for CP Park without the pressure of having to leave immediately.

Overall surely to move is the best option. I know its hard work but im sure would be best bet for the club moving forward in the long run.

However, if Selhurst is redeveloped all the talk is about doing the Main Stand first. Why not the Arthur? Surely there is more room and flexibility to do something there and is IMO in a worse state.

The Arthur has the worst facilities and the one that needs doing first but the main stand will bring in more revenue to actually help pay for the work.

All options are being considered.
