only just noticed the new 2018 timetable. makes it nigh on impossible for me to get the train to work. possibly making a 35 minute journey well over an hour.... if trains run on time

I know what happens when a Train comes apart.... Iíve had it happen to me.. luckily I was only in a depot. If that Train was traveling at high speed with passengers on, it could quite easily have resulted in death. if the front unit brakes harder than the rear unit after it splits, youíd have a collision.

It was a Tattenham Corner Service.

This strikes me as dangerous.

A friend of my wifeís was on it.

The carriage she was on came to a halt outside a station. They thought it was a simple, routine stop for whatever reason.

No comms for 45 mins.

They then established they had been detached from the train.

I've often thought that. I've not heard of it happening at high speed though to be fair. Usually when under higher tensions pulling away at lower speeds

I think a Train detatching in service is pretty bad..... when mine happened in a depot... DSMís were having kittens. Both couplings were replaced even thou the fitters said they were fine.

So that's what they euphemistically called 'a failed train at London Bridge'?

Yesterday was a cluster**** from start to finish. Advising people not to travel till after 9.30 in the morning, and running almost no trains from London in the evening. Took me more than two-and-a-half hours to get home.

I dunno what happened first thing yesterday morning... but I do know there were massive engineering works the night before. It makes me wonder if that contributed to the mahoosive **** up the very next morning

I knew it would cause issues in the evening, but it was like the fall of Saigon once again.

A power surge then no power for a few minutes All signals went blank between east croydon and Gatwick then every signal was Red so you can imagine the chaos. Was almost recovered for the evening peak then the train split in 2 at London Bridge and more chaos ensued. An absolutely horrendous day. London Bridge was shut for around 1 hour while they sorted the train out and we all know as track full to capacity it ain't gonna go well
