This doesn’t get mentioned enough. He played a blinder getting him back when so many thought it wasn’t a possibility. Parish absolutely loves Wilf and knew what an amazing player he could be even when many doubted him after his Man U experience.

Promotion was so bitter sweet in 2013, because amid the celebrations, we lost one of the most exciting players I’ve ever seen at Selhurst. Was over the moon when we got him back and have very fond memories dancing about St James Park when he scored that last minute equaliser on his return. Just couldn’t believe we were getting a second bite at watching the man in Palace colours. Thought we’d lost him forever.

Even if Wilf leaves at the end of the season, we’ve had almost 4 extra seasons of enjoying the most uniquely skilful talent the club has ever produced.

You’d think this alone would cut Parish some slack with his doubters.

Absolutely and wouldn’t surprise me if Parish had a trick up his sleeve in terms of keeping Wilf at SP for remainder of his career.

A big part of this will be a commitment to build the club/team around him and push on so that the club could be competitive for domestic honours and possibly Europe in the future. Need a steady approach and a clear vision though!

Calling Poll, Clattenburg,and Sutton.

Wilshere dived and Hazard went to ground with the contact of a feather.

I predict total silence from these *****.

Wilshere is an Arsenal player, an England player.
Hazard is a Chelsea player.

As long as you play for a big club you can dive all you want. If you're an England player even more so!!! English players don't dive in their eyes.

Zaha gets shoved in the back and these bastards make a campaign out of it. Nasty pieces of work. Bullies. Gutless cowards who show they have a personal vendetta against Wilf and or Palace.

Good on Parish and our fans for hammering Poll and Sutton on twitter.

Make these cowards squirm. Where is the media campaign to get Hazard and Wilshere banned for diving/going down with minimal contact. Or are these players too white to receive criticism? These liars should know that we will throw mud right back at them for this.

What is it about Zaha’s skin colour that the pundits don’t like?

The lack of scrutiny is astonishing,

after Alan Shearer accused Jack Wilshere of diving, Frank Lampard countered him with ' I just think we are in danger of trying to give yellow cards retrospectively or at the time for when there is contact. And there's a grey area, and I'm not seeing a clear dive there.'

Hazard's penalty was simulation, that wasn't a kick, a slight brush at most but he conned the ref by throwing himself to the ground.

There has to be some balance, the big clubs are above the normal rules because it was a pulsating game ?

Did anyone else think we should have had a blatant penalty late on yesterday when Wilf was clipped in the box? He just about kept his footing, but did try harder to stay on his feet because of the recent scrutiny? I think if he goes down he gets the penalty.

I shouldn’t be I know, but I was stunned by how the pundits and even the expert ex-ref convinced themselves that this was a genuine penalty. To the point that they completely ignored the fact that the prone Hazard lay there as if in his last moments clutching a mortally wounded shin. Quite how the tap on his boot caused this horrific damage remains a mystery. Equally how that injury was healed in time for him to take the penalty is not clear.

If this was a penalty then Wilf is probably owed half a dozen from this season alone.

I just struggle to understand the blatant hypocrisy of their blind eye to Hazard, Sterling and DeBruyne with blatant dives while demonising Wilf.

Oh yeah and have they got some mindless hatred for Palace then?

More likely it’s deeply held views on a black Briton’s (I know the IC heritage) attitude - bit too confident, free, demonstrative for their liking. Black people in UK must be seen but not heard. Too uppity.

De Bruyne diving? Fine, he’s a top European footballer. Sterling? Fine. He’s meek and mild. Doesn’t even protest when he’s racially attacked before a game.

But south London black boy Wilf a bit too cocksure for certain middle aged, provincial white ex-footballers from East Anglia, Cheshire, Teeside and the rest.

Uncomfortable for some isn’t it?

Next match, first time he is kicked up in the air and the ref does nothing sing the song:

Wilf is unusual because he is one of a kind regardless of colour, nationality or club. There’s no conspiracy just ignorance of his god given talent.

Hazard has been diving for years, he even dived in the game where Chelsea won the title a couple of years back against us and won the winning penalty, yet the media never mention it because he plays for a big club and it is not in their interest to upset them. Whereas the smaller teams get scutinized all the time.

Graham '3 cards' Poll has already said that Hazard was a definite penalty, but then Hazard is white and plays for a big club!

I never said there was a conspiracy. Unless you are talking of one set of people judging others according to different standards or with preconceived notions. But that’s not a conscious nor organised conspiracy. Maybe provocatively and with some exaggeration, I am accusing some white middle aged provincial footballers of prejudicial thinking in judging Wilf a diver. And yes also elements too of us not being a small club and Zaha being a tricksy, dribbling player naturally.

All speculative and without evidence of course. But then all opinions on this thread are without evidence. It’s very subjective.

Appreciate a large minority on here have rather different opinions on race to me. That is they can reconcile loving their Wilf and...well, let’s leave the rest shall we.

The bloke just craves publicity.

Whether it was or wasn't a penalty isn't the real point is it, the fact is Hazard pulled that "I'm in agony" face he's so good at and grabbed his shin like it had been snapped in two pieces in a blatant attempt to con the ref about the severity of any foul. You'd think Taylor of all refs might be looking out for simulation in the box but apparently not.
