Amazing for such a short player he won just about every header he went for.
The Newcastle fans showed themselves to be the twats they are by booing Townsend and Cabaye whereas we clapped and cheered Gayle.

If you read the Benteke thread tou’ll see he gave Benteke a lesson in pressuring the opposition defense.

funny you say that, I saw a golf buggy parked in a disabled bay at Selhurst earlier today and I wondered what his handicap was

Didn’t he score more than that for us, from the bench, every season?

7 in his first season, 5 in his second, 3 in his last.

Poor today- to cock up the break they had early in the 2nd half by getting offside was bordering on criminal

Was convinced he was going to score today, but was generally ineffective. Still like Dwight but he’s certainly more of a Championship striker as proven and a bloody good one at that. If we went/go down, I’d have him back at a sniff.

Pretty poor today thankfully. Can see why they want to get rid. Some players are just perfect for getting out of the championship and sadly for him, I think that's as good as it gets. He can make a nice little end to his career simply by hopping from Championship chasing clubs. Probably rake in transfer money while he is at it.

It wasn't until the 80th minute or so, I realised he hadn't been subbed at halftime

And the lad knocks in another couple of prem goals , far better finisher than anything we've got up front , Pardew deserved the sack for making the decision to sell Gayle .

Sadly pardew legacybwas more to do with who he let go than who he recruited. Jedi before replacing. Gayle without really giving him a chance and not keeping Murray as back up or paired with Gayle. . Having said that. Some of his buyscwere not up to it either. |

Not scored in fourteen games before today. Some perspective needed
