well here is a thread that no one wants to see again but after today it looks like it may be relevant. I've gone through the remaining figures and set down the type of results that we are going to need in order to get to 39 points (which should be safe). Less than 39 points should probably be OK as well so falling behind target isn't too dire but better safe than sorry. We therefore need a further 28 points

These are not predictions but should give some idea as to where we are bearing in mind the difficulty of the fixtures and the fact we seem to have a run of difficult fixtures followed by some easier looking ones.-

................................Projected....Actua l.......Target +/-........Overall

Southampton (h)..............L............W..............+3... ............. +3

Looks like it may well get worse before it gets better. However lets hope I can forget this thread well before May.

Hate to say it but I think our luck will be out this season.

The last 3 teams to lose in the FA Cup Final have also been relegated the next season.

The time to act for Parish was in the summer. Unfortunately he handed Pardew a new contract when it should have been his P45.

Interesting that you've put our 7 wins all at home. I know its not your prediction but even so, makes grim reading with our home form being so shit.

The only thing that will keep us up now is there being 3 worse teams. I think Hull are a given, despite our propensity to lose up there. If Bradley stays at Swansea and Moyes at Sunderland we'll have a fighting chance. Burnley and Boro may struggle with numbers later in the season, but I'm clutching at straws.

Going down in my view under Pardew. He's awful, just awful. Can't believe how he has spent so much and yet we are in this situation. Change is needed.

The show's over. Thought after Noades we'd learn our lesson and never screw our chance of cementing ourselves in the top flight through piss poor management again.

Fuxake.

Funny you should say that because I was reading Swansea posts earlier and they class us as one of the 3 worse teams and can't believe we scored 4 against them

To be fair to them on the current showing we are. I have grave doubts about Tomkin's, Townsend a d to a certain extent Benteke attitude wise. If we don't get a new manager before the transfer window it looks bleak. Especially with our run in.

Do you know I hadn't even really thought of that. I just went through and looked at what seemed winnable matches. It may be that because we have not played the struggling teams at home yet that is why our form is so bad - to put a positive spin on our results so far.

well if your prediction holds he will only have two more points after the next six games so 2 points from last 12 games a possible 36 points and only 2 to show. he will be well gone but sadly i think we will be so rooted to the bottom of the table its then hard to suddenly win matches.

I think we can forget about Europe this season anyway Thought we'd beat Swansea and Hull to stay on target with 5 wins from 15 games - looks unlikely that we will beat both Soton and Hull to do that now. Just about getting through to Jan 1st and getting enough proper players in that can produce clean sheets without the goals drying up at the other end. We just need 4th bottom then - it doesn't have to be a stellar season but lessons need to be learnt for next season about keeping leaders and punting freeloaders.

Yeah I thought I'd give the "Qualifying for Europe Calculator" a break this season.

We are dead and buried.

Even with a new manager it will be tough.

Well done everyone involved at the club, pissed away the last 3 years of hard work.

Is that so? We aren't even in the bottom 3 at the moment.

We've been in this position twice before, brought in a new manager and turned things around.

There are plenty of decent players in the squad, a half decent manager will get us back on track.
