From the BBC:

The Manor team have collapsed after administrators failed to find a buyer for the stricken business. Manor's operating company Just Racing Services has been in administration since 6 January, and FRP Advisory has been unable to find a buyer. Just Racing ceased trading on Friday, effectively ending the Manor team.

The staff were sent home on Friday and told they will be made redundant by the close of business on Tuesday after the payment of January salaries. FRP said there was "no sustainable operational or financial structure in place to maintain the group as a going concern". Joint administrator Geoff Rowley added the administration process "provided a moratorium" in the search for a buyer but "no solution could be achieved to allow for the business to continue in its current form".

Not sure what to make of this report from the BBC. There are obviously still some issues behind the scenes at McLaren. My highlights in red:

The man McLaren recruited to head their Formula 1 team has left just five months after joining. German Jost Capito, 58, was appointed as chief executive officer of McLaren Racing by former boss Ron Dennis last year and started work in September. But he has become a victim of McLaren's decision to split with Dennis.
A McLaren spokesman said: "Regrettably, we have not been able to find common ground on what is and will be needed to make the team successful again." The McLaren spokesman added that Capito, the former head of Volkswagen Motorsport, had "a strong commitment to bringing success back to McLaren. He wanted to build again a winning team and fully focus on making the McLaren F1 car competitive, with the aim of winning World Championships in coming years."
Sources close to Capito say he had not been working day-to-day at the company since early December but had remained formally an employee. He has only recently agreed departure terms.

2017 car launches confirmed so far. Other launches still to be confirmed. Which car are we looking forward to seeing the most? For me it has to be McLaren. With the dropping of the MP4 name, and a couple of subtle hints I have seen online, I am expecting it to look very different colour wise.

Former Ferrari technical director James Allison has joined rivals Mercedes. Allison, 48, who left Ferrari in July, replaces Paddy Lowe as technical director at the reigning world champions. Lowe, who led the team to three consecutive drivers' and constructors' championship doubles from 2014 to 2016, left Mercedes in January.

Allison had two spells at Ferrari - working as chief aerodynamicist during the Michael Schumacher era of 2000-04. The Englishman then moved to the Renault team, where he was deputy technical director when Fernando Alonso won consecutive titles in 2005 and 2006. "It's a massive privilege to be given the trust of a position in a team that has done so spectacularly well in the past three season." said Allison, who was Ferrari's technical director from 2013 to 2016. "I am looking forward to playing my part in helping Mercedes go from strength to strength in the coming years."

Allison will report to Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff, who added: "It wasn't an easy task to find the right personality who can strengthen our experienced group of engineers, give our talented young team members the space to develop and also bring his own vision to this role. "James is a sharp engineer; I think we have found the perfect guy and the right fit with our senior leaders."

March 5- 40 years to the day since the tragic death of the supremely talented Tom Pryce, killed in a freak accident at Kyalami. In 1977 the driver was a much greater influence on a cars performance than now and it was still possible for privateers and teams with little sponsorship to be competitive if they unearthed a genuine talent. Tom Pryce was definitely that, scoring podium finishes for the unsponsored Shadow team and winning the non championship "Race of Champions" at a soaking Brands Hatch in 1975. Still remembered by all who saw his brilliant and flamboyant style.
