Good idea but isn't it a bit unfair on those who've already purchased individual tickets for the next few home games (probably at £35+ a pop)?

Whats stopping Terry the Tout buying a membership and buying tickets? How much is a membership now?

Can one membership/season ticket holder only buy one ticket on Twickets?

And why would a season ticket holder want to buy another ticket?

I guess it's now up to the purchaser to decide whether to buy at face value from the club, or wait and see what turns up on twickets.

Twickets might be cheaper, but my guess is that people are more likely to be selling single tickets that way. If you want 2 or more tickets sitting together, buying from the club (probably for the Arthur Wait stand?) might be more successful.

Thing is, there's been criticism in the past when there have been empty seats at sellout matches. This will help address that.

Terry the Tout has always been able to buy a membership and purchase tickets from the club (subject to any loyalty points thresholds).

As a ST holder, I'm sometimes asked to buy tickets for Palace mates. It's usually friends who can only attend a couple of matches per year, for a variety of reasons.

So the additional ticket that I occasionally purchase is for them.

The buyer isn't paying what they seller receives. The buyer will pay whatever the price is for that game so it's completely fair.

My only criticism is that you can only sell two tickets per listing and it has to be sold as the category that your tickets are i.e. Senior or 18-21. This lessens the chance of sale the club should change it so that the buyer can select what category of ticket they want i.e. Adult and this would enable the club to make more money too!

Terry the tout would usually sell for a lot higher than Twickets prices so I suppose it makes touting less lucrative. Still possible though

Praise from the Football Supporters Federation:

"It’s a positive move demonstrating that not everything a club does has to be driven by profit. It shows that clubs can create something that is fair and beneficial to supporters.

"We’ve long been opposed to the legalised touting that many secondary ticketing deals represent - which sees too many fans pay hugely inflated sums to see their team.

"We congratulate Crystal Palace on this move and encourage other clubs across the country to follow their lead."

Shame this wasn't in place for the Huddersfield game although the person who would have bought my ticket had a lucky escape

Twickets is FV only (or at least it is for the music side of things) so surely there's no profit in it? Unless you're a STH and are able to sell for the individual price of each match?

Just put my ticket for Southampton on there as I'm at a wedding.
It told me I would get £30 - £4 fees, so £26. However the ticket is listed for £42.5 plus £4 fees.

It then says in my email that they don't charge sellers, so it's all very confusing!

So Twickets earn double fees! Very nice.

The seller should essentially get 1/19th of the ST price but obviously, the buyer would pay what the normal price would be. The club take the difference which is fair enough.

I think that is about right. If a season ticket holder could get the match by match price, then they could technically profit from their season ticket.

As Ebyeekeagle said above, they could charge the standard match price but then Twickets and Palace divide the difference as their profit. That way the ST holder doesn't profit, but gets some money back.

Or, even better in my view, give a percentage of that difference to a charity...such as Geoff Thomas's charity.

That would incentivise the ST holders even more to offer up their seat when they can't use it.

Just put my ticket on for the Saints game (lower Holmesdale) - all pretty easy.

Probably too late for it to be snapped up, but thought I'd give it a go anyway.

Or you could sell it here directly at the real face value of £42.50 and leave Twickets out of them making over £15 off you.

Sounds like the tout is Twickets.

If it's a season ticket then £42.50 is not the "real face value". Also, the sale of season tickets for individual matches is not allowed on the BBS.
