Can't remember the venue but it was in the early 90's we were 2-0 up, missed a penalty and went on to lose 3-2! Ironically went to a game a year or so before that, think notts county away and the reverse happened

0-4 v Wimbledon in the early '90s.

We made them look like a free flowing Liverpool side.

Blackburn away play off final first leg. Especall having pulled back to 2 1 late on to then concede again was devastating. Having rovers fans lining street outside their homes mocking us as we walked back to coach getting back home at some ungodly hour. Stewing over what might have been if we could f****** defend.
But as we all know.......We f***** them 3 0 in the second leg!!!

HUddersfield 0-4 - Dec 1998. And then got a phone call on my way out of the ground to say my mate had died. We knew he was ill but having had a heart transplant two days before we wrongly assumed everything would be OK.

The venue was in fact Notts County. We were amazing for 20 minutes....and then it all went wrong.

And as you say, just 19 months previously, the reverse had happened at the same ground

Shrewsbury towards the late 80's. We could never beat Shrewsbury.
And cap it all off, Ian Wright stuck his fingers up at us due to abuse of their piss poor performance.

Grimsby. 2002. Lost 5-2.

Awful day out.

As was getting battered 5-0 by Wigan in 2003.

Given I don't get to SP much and nearly all my Palace games have been / are away, I've got too many stories to recount

But Grimsby 5-2 and Lincoln 1-0 defeats stick out somewhat

That one stands out for me. Most of us had to wait outside the station in the pouring rain for about half an hour as well and the train back to London seemed to take forever. A grim day all round.

Annoyingly it's the only match I've seen at the Amex. I managed to miss the 3-1 win and the payoff semi.

5-0 at wigan. Truly awful performance and soul destroying. Left with 20 minutes to go.

There's so many to choose from!
The 9-0 at Anfield, obviously, although the FA Cup semi-final at Villa Park more than compensated.
Losing 5-1 at Millwall late in the 1967/68 season, one of the very few times I've left a Palace game early and I missed the Palace goal
Drawing 1-1 at Cardiff last game of the season and getting relegated to the 3rd Division
Losing 2-1 to Leicester at Wembley in the Play-Off final
But my personal "favourite" is losing at Barnsley in the Simon Jordan era, a cold, wet windy night with a performance so dire that travelling fans were offered a refund on their tickets.

Saw the game on TV and it surely stands out as the worst Palace performance ever. How we only lost 5-0 is beyond me. Wigan should have easily made it to double figures.

Leeds, can barely see the pitch from the away end, and was told to sit down 100s of times. When we went on the attach I stood up as couldn't see the goal we were attacking from the seat and they just kept telling me to sit down!

Scunthorpe under Burley was depressing.
Ditto Millwall away under Burley, least you don't have far to get home.
