Not under Burley as didn't attend that defeat but a 3-0 loss on Boxing Day to Millwall and another 3-1 defeat soon after, probs around 2003?

Early kick off game at Crewe on a Sunday stands out as well 0-0 draw. Akinibye hit the crossbar. ******* shit atmosphere throughout.

Went up by the 'infamous' club coach - just because like many had to get back that same night/early morning. Despite leaving Selhurst with seemingly oodles of time - arrived 45 minutes before kick off. Never again. I was, naively, hoping that we would get there for 18.30pm and have time to neck three pints in a local pub.

A good sing song, but the bindippers put Clinton off is game following a press exageration of some comment he made. Plus, our manager had strange tactics that night - lost the plot.

Then straight back on the bus, junior bindippers jeering us out of Scouseland. Not the best trip up there.

Away at Millwall back in the 1960s when we lost 5-1 (I think), our goal being a Woodruff header. Which I felt unable to celebrate......

Either the 5-0 defeat at Wigan (I was in with them with Palace shirt on, not scary but piss severely taken) but probably the worst for the ride home on a train like a morgue was the game at Cardiff in the 70's when we were relegated. Miserable.

KO delayed by 40 mins. due to accidents on M11.
Absolutely pi**ing down on an open terrace.
Witless woeful performance

Diverted off the M11 on the way back
Diverted off the diversion due to a lorry getting stuck under a bridge.
Finally dried out after having the heater on full blast for 2 hours, stopped at some services, bought a bottle of Dr Pepper which exploded all over me when opened.

huddersfield away, end of Jan 2013 was a weird one. Drove up and back in the night - got back at about 5am. Strange atmosphere amongst the fans, no one singing. Felt like some Palace fans were looking for some agro from fellow Palace fans. Lethargic performance.

Had many fruitless trips to the Gallstone Ground but by far the worst was the 3-0 defeat on Boxing Day 79. By the early 80's as a Club, we had become so crap, that we almost expected to lose to the Weed (still painful though!) but in 79, the result was very unexpected. I still remember us getting a corner at 1-0 down and about 10 seconds later, Peter Ward making it 2-0 ! Having tons of coins thrown at us, throughout the game, wasn't great fun, either.
At the end of that season, we when to Forest, were torn apart by Trevor Francis and were lucky to only lose 4-0. That was a painful one, as well !

That's the game I posted and I always remember them scoring from our corner - unbelievable! In hindsight that was a turning point we became shit after that

Have a joint 4 which i can't separate:

Bolton midday on a Sunday. A few of us had a weekend in Blackpool and planned to do the match. Rail works meant an early train and coach, then none of the pubs were opened to away fans. About 200 palace there, Sagi Burton played centre half. Lost 3-0, not a shot on goal. Terrible day.

Luton 05/06. Again not a pub let in away fans, police escort from the station that we somehow swerved. Luton yobs everywhere.

Bristol City play off. Just gutted that cowboy outfit beat us. And their fans were awful. We would have got battered if we actually won.

Cardiff league cup semi. As above. Thought we were going to do it, but forgot Freedman was in a negative phase. Such a let down.

Everton away two or three seasons ago. Travelled all the way to Liverpool through Gayle force elements with Wverton insisting game could go ahead. Got checked into premier inn, had a few drinks, got to ground through the wind and rain, game called off 30 minutes before kick off, because conditions outside the ground were unsafe, tiles coming off houses. Most people were already in ground, which was relatively still due to the shelter from elements. We were forced to
Leave the ground as game was cancelled as if was unsafe outside, meaning we had to go back outside where it was unsafe! It's Liverpool... 'it's Liverpool always unsafe' didn't go down very well with the authorities!

We've already had well deserved mentions of 0-3 at The Goldstone, Boxing Day 1979 and 0-3 at The Amex 12/13.

Surprised nobody else has nominated Boxing Day 1988 again at The Goldstone. We were challenging for promotion (eventually successfully) and they were down the bottom. Needless to say we were catastrophically shite and the 1-3 scoreline flattered us. I don't recall an insurmountable injury crisis at the time but for some unfathomable reason we ended up with Rudi Hedman playing on the wing, an experiment that was never repeated. I don't think his reputation ever recovered with those of us who witnessed it. The result was made even more depressing by how predictable it was. I recall an interview a few years later from one of players saying how he and several teammates were oblivious to the importance of the match to the supporters and how it quickly dawned on them how badly they'd let us down when the coaching staff locked the dressing room door and delivered an unprecedented bollocking with Ian Evans leading the way.

A more recent Boxing Day debacle was at Millwall in 2001. A shocking peformance. We were so bad that it ended with the indignity of Millwall's fans taking the piss by loudly cheering on the rare occasions that we managed to string 2 passes together which succeeded in making us even worse. Remember Scott Gooding? He made his debut as substitute. Thankfully it was his last appearance too. And the cutting edge of Trevor Benjamin up-front? A striker who had spells at over 25 different clubs and you could tell why nobody ever wanted him sticking around for long. I'm not sure how Trevor Francis kept his job after that one.
