The only sub I disagreed with was taking off Wilf. He showed v West Ham he should played every minute of every game. Even in a bad game, he is always capable of doing something.

On the face of it didn't make sense, may of just been nervous of him getting injured again, you cant blame him for wanting to protect Wilf if that was the case.

Would Real Madrid have wanted to hire Hodgson at any point in his career? Yeah, it’s a no. You can also compare Benitez’s relative success at Liverpool to Roy’s failure.

Fair enough, thought it was still 0-0. I still don't agree with the sub though, both the timing (should have been sooner) and personnel (should have been Jimmy Mac or Sako for Schlupp at 0-0).

I think we can all see signs of improvement, 4-6 points in our next two games (would give an arm and a leg for 6) would be a nice way to kickstart our campaign. 0-2 points and we're in huge trouble.

I get your point, the points aren't coming and usually you need change but... we are creating so many more chances than we concede that has to change. We also have benteke coming back and the way we are playing with him in the side is points.

Also google it... Roy does go on winning runs and is probably the most experienced and proven guy we can get for our situation and has said and done everything right so far.
My point is that yes keep what were are doing but add to it . My comments are based on the fact that Roy has allegedly said he doesn't know what else to do .The bits that I think have been missing is his reading the game in the last 15 mins , the lack of iminagation at corners and free kicks , his under utilisation of central defenders as offensive threats ( given our lack of forwards) , giving back possession from throws and his incorrect use of subs etc . Hes got about 75 per cent right yet we are getting further behind the pack with less games to go. So he needs to do more that's the point . ( alternatively of course 75 per cent right might be enough with a fully fit squad but I doubt whether we will ever have that )

Newcastle and I do agree that taking off your biggest threat isn't great. To defend Roy though, it was Wilf's second game back after injury and he was dead on his feet. In fact he barely touched the ball for 15 mins leading to his substitution if I recall. Maybe Roy was worried about further injury due to fatigue. Only Roy knows why.

Yes, if it was a risk and we had lost Wilf for the following game against West Ham we wouldn't have got a point. Even the most successful managers make, what on the face of it, look like puzzling substitution decisions at times, however, your average football fan doesn't always see the full picture.

I like the post on here that the German football federation had him on a shortlist to take over at one stage, oh yeah of course they did LOL!

indeed.

"Ideally you dont shop in the january transfer window"

We do and will be again.

Must admit I wasnt too chuffed at having roy here BUT he has made the team play well and it isnt his fault we have no real striker to convert the chances.

The games Ive seen v west ham and spurs we really deserved to win and did not play like we were relegation candidates.

FDB did that against Huddlesfield then Wilf was out injured for several months!

Having heard Roy's press conference after yesterday the above remains pertinent . As he doesnt know what else he can do -
I would include getting schlup to drive into the box if playing , getting shoots away earlier, more shooting practice from distant - Andros , Cabaye and Luka in particular. Improve one twos on the edge of the area . Improve crossing . Work with beneteke - shooting , hold up play , leading the line. Switching Andros and Wilf around throughout the game

A disappointing appointment by the board. Another convincing win for Watford, Parish's decision to leave Marco Silva waiting in Sainsbury's car park for 3 days whilst he was on his yacht has backfired spectacularly
