The War mode consists of one team trying to complete various phases of a progressive 4 part mission and the the team roles are swapped at half-time so the attackers become the defenders.

If any phase of the mission is stopped before completion then the battle is lost to the team which have prevented the other from actioning their orders.

There are several different scenarios from World War 2 to complete on pretty big maps

In War mode there is very little chance of being instantly killed on spawn which is a problem with some of the other COD multiplayer modes if an opposing player is camped near where you re-spawn.

This may sound silly, but can you not play Zombies on single player mode? If so, how?

Also, silly teenagers nicking mummy's credit card to buy a computer game map or a gun that they don't need is not 'sad as hell'.

It's not the fact they are doing it which is sad as hell, it's the fact that publishers are forcing their devs to put this sort of stuff in which is. Also using these methods to manipulate "silly teenagers" into essentially gambling, but with no monetary rewards is inexcusable.

It's okay in f2p mobile games, but in a 50 game it isn't.

I agree that it's totally wank, but I think to compare it to gambling is rather silly. I'd say that it probably pays for parents to keep an eye on the games that their kids play, and to tell them no if they want to spend money on stupid shit like a new animated gun.

Like I said, I think it's proper wank that games do this today, but I reckon you're overthinking it a bit.

The game has an 18 certificate so the blame lies with the parents who bought the game for their kids and who allow them to play it.

It is not just a case of teaching kids gambling as the game has an adult rating for a reason as it is very violent and portrays graphically the horrors of war.

Parents can have no complaints as their children should not be playing the game in the first place.

I’m about half way through the campaign which I’m really enjoying and spent last night online in team deathmatch. Really enjoyed that too but one thing is for certain. I am shockingly bad at it

I went into Tesco on Sunday to buy an iPhone charger cable and came out with a Xbox one s with COD WW2 and for a horizon for 199. Forgot the iPhone charger.
It's the first console I've had since a the original wii
Playing the campaign and I'm completely blown away by it. It is amazing! I can't put it down.
Probably for a different thread but can you set up multiple users for a game? I.e. If someone else wants to play the same game, can they save their own progress?

Usually i wait for a few months for the price to go down before i buy these quick campaign games and only buy open sandbox games like Witcher 3 etc as soon as they come out as you get good value for hours of play. I am not much into the multi player and i don't want to spunk 50 notes on a 5 hour buzz but as a veteran of this series from the start i couldn't wait. So far i like it but not quite worth the 50 notes but that's my fault i knew it would be a night or two's gaming. Expensive month this one with Battlefront,Wolfenstein,Origins and this

Really enjoying it I have to say. Still a bit buggy at times but so much better than the last couple of cod titles.

However, these temptations were soon dashed when I found out about the disgusting practices Activision are implementing into this title.

It's no secret to know that a large part of CoD's audience are young teens/Children, so the ability to effectively turn each player in the hub/headquarters lobby into an advertisement doesn't sit right with me.

Basically whenever someone opens up a supply drop, all players in the lobby are able to see what items they get. The fact that you are able to use real currency to buy these crates gives me the impression that children will be manipulated into using spending money in the hope of getting "That cool camo that xX420QuikScopezXx just got". It's quite a disgusting practice and is essentially gambling.

I don't know how silly this sounds but all this is done on the beach of Normandy. I don't know how veterans will feel about a stage of a brutal conflict being relegated to a casino-lite to maximise profits earned from manipulated gamers.

I know EA have implemented purchasable supply crates in Battlefront 2, but at least they have the decency to offer ALL DLC for free as they are earning money through other means. This game? Oh no, gamers have to double-dip and also PAY for any future map packs.

This loot drop shit is becoming a cancer in gaming and I reckon it needs to be regulated.
For the record, EA has no decency whatsoever. They have been preying on the gambling tendencies of players for years, going back to when they first made Ultimate Team.

They have just posted the most downvoted comment on Reddit of ALL TIME for trying to justify charging $80 for an 'upgraded' version of Battlefront II that doesn't give you all of the heroes, while making these heroes available if you pay for credits in-game. Apparently they want unlocking characters like Darth Vader to feel like an achievement (that's what the Reddit post said). EA are the worst of the worst when it comes to video games and have been squeezing customers for years.

I think non-payable unlocks are proper rewarding. Clearly paying for them is bollocks and in no way rewarding, well except for the developers bank balance

I remember a few years ago I had a version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour where you could unlock new courses with tokens, or just pay for them. I read a review that said to unlock all of these course without paying, you'd need to play something like 20 rounds a day for an entire year

EA are scum. Yet there are millions around the world, and many on here that encourage this bullshit buy purchasing FIFA each year. I firmly believe that FUT is the catalyst for all of this. A boycott on FIFA will hurt EA massively.

Save the gaming industry. Buy PES

This is where EA are abusing monopoly power, at the most basic level of economics. The network effect created by people buying FIFA makes it better for others to buy, and it snowballs. I'm surprised it hasn't been investigated yet.

Pop onto Reddit and check out the backlash against Battlefront, it's quite amusing. EA are doing an AskMeAnything session tomorrow and it's probably going to be quite brutal, although that may get in the way of us getting useful answers.

On the subject of CoD though, what are people's thoughts so far? I was keen on this based on the fact that it's gone back to World War II. I don't need ground-breaking gameplay, just similar to before but without the jet packs and all that nonsense!

Oh, that AMA is going to be a bloodbath, and rightly so!

With regards to CoD. Played it round a mates. Campaign looks great and kinda makes me want to buy it, but I have no interest in the multiplayer, so I'm waiting for a price drop.

CoD multiplayer has gone to shit. The maps are ******* awful with some sort of Swiss-Cheese layout, and give the game a "meat grinder" feel.

Spawn. Kill someone. get shot from behind. Repeat.

No thanks.
