Home Form

5 games unbeaten. 4 I hear you say, but we also beat Huddersfield in the Cup. We have only managed draws in 2 games we should have won, but leaving selhurst with something after being accustomed to nothing so often is slowly making me believe. Long may it continue

Building some form at home which is great to see. Feels like a long time since we went four home games unbeaten. A draw today would have put a different perspective on it but the win tips the balance.

On the FYP podcast they keep coming back to this glorious time of Fortress Selhurst and I can't for the life of me think of which timeframe the they are talking about.

My best guess is a brief spell in our Pulis half season or in the Championship.

Hopefully we can now make they myth a reality

Selhurst was last a fortress in 78’-79’. From what I remember!

For the whole of the Coppell era in the 80’s Selhurst was a fortress. We hardly ever lost at Home. Problem is we were shit away.

I remember beating runaway leaders Portsmouth at home on the last game of the season who hadn’t lost a game & losing to Brighton at the Goldstone who hadn’t won a game all season.

Remember being at 2 defeats even that season. Bristol R and Fulham?

Correct. Bristol Rovers was on boxing day and there was a floodlight failure. Fulham was the match where the referee didn't play the full 90 minutes and brought the players back out to play the remaining few minutes

The home form is getting better. Unbeaten in five (four in the league) with two wins.

Now we just need a win away.

Well it is what I've banged on about for ages. Didn't expect us to win today but that is just the sort of result we need.

Danny Murphy said that when he played under Hodgson, Hodgson placed a big emphasis on home form. It was what I wanted to hear but it will always be results that count.

If this Manager can get wins and draws at Selhurst Park and that leads directly to Palace staying up, he will become a Palace Hero and how fitting that would be for a local man.

A slight blip with Arsenal, but still pretty damn good form considering some of our recent records.

Very true.

Too many draws are the worry.
