We'll need a plan for Craig Mackail-Smith. Heard great things about him.

What the dive you mean.

Hardly Ward's fault.

Fosu Mensah had been average when he has played.

Did you miss Ward's assist for Zaha in the Everton game?

I can imagine that Benteke will start.

McArthur will probably go to the bench.

In some ways it's a shame as we have played good football without Benteke. That said he is a proven 20+ goalscorer in a Premier League season and we must get him playing and scoring.

Early doors V stoke they sussed us out and pressed us when bringing the ball out of defence. Hopefully we will have worked on moving it out early if that happens Tuesday.

RCL also played too far forward 1st half and did not look comfortable with his back to goal.

They will hate our pace if we play though midfield. So I think we will go 4-2-3-1 for the first time in a while.

This is how I think we will line up.

I reckon Benteke didn't play the full match Saturday as his fitness isn't quite there yet ( speedier return than ideal, due to our lack of options) and that the plan is for him to start on Tuesday. Therefore I can't see any reason it won't be the same team that started the second half on Saurday.

There really isn't any other option, is there?

Don't see Ward being dropped yet, though. That said, it would be nice to see TFM given a chance at RB off the bench. Our one sub per match policy can't be good for morale/match fitness.

This may not be a popular opinion, but it might be worth getting Punch involved early. He might be up for this one more so than the other players, and could lead by example.

I think Fosu-Mensah will be a better player, but the games he has played at right back rather than centre back for us he has played poorly. Ward has been dependable the last few games, more so than Fosu-Mensah. I was also calling for him to play at right back when we had Sakho fit but he hasnt been great there.

Benteke score, and a clean sheet aswell. Hopefully this time out the side will do the 'undroppable' (not because of good performance) Punchoen so good to find some form.

For me it'll be:

Hennessey

Ward -------- Tomkins --------- Sakho ---------- Schlupp

RLC ----------- Cabaye ----------- Luka ---------- Townsend

Zaha

Benteke

Back 4 and midfield stay very narrow and compact, then let Wilf screen across their back 4. Means he can drift wide without being picked up and link up with both RLC and Townsend in their weak areas at full back. Their atmosphere will be shit if we keep them quiet for 10 mins then we can grow into the game.

We are playing a system that Roy feels is right currently and working, hence why he did Not start with CB on Saturday also he has looked completely out of sorts and off the pace since returning and is clearly not ready to start the game. If he was fully functional i would Not hesitate in starting him, but as i said this is a game we Must approach with caution initially as they will come at us from the whistle, plan well show patience and we can Win this game.
That is my view as to how we should approach this game, we shall see what Roy Hodgson decides on.

That's my thinking as well. Keep very tight and compact for the first 20 mins when the crowd will play their part.

I'd love to see him back in the side, pulling the strings. Recently we have lacked the creativity and goals that he offers. He's got the passion to deliver us 3 points in this important fixture. Hope Roy is reading this.

You change your opinion so much - weren't you campaigning for him to be out of the side a matter of weeks ago?!

Not to mention he hasn't scored since the Cup Final, so what goals do you speak of?!

I think that McArthur started because he scored in the last game. And Ward started because of the great assist in his previous game. I expect Benteke and TFM to start this one.
