1 in 2 at wolves, knew where the goal was. 1 in 6 at tippy tappy Bournemouth with his back to goal and many substitute appearances

Yes because he is a centre forward. Sako has done a decent job but hes a winger. Not worth 15M agree with that

For 8m it would be a yes from me. Might allow us to get another striker or Amadou.

He's certainly a better long term option. I wouldn't mind getting him even if it wouldn't be an exciting move.

This has all the makings of a desperate last minute signing if it were to happen. The problem we face is without any alternatives on the bench to call on, anything is better than nothing. So do i see Afobe being goodenough as a permanent Benteke replacement? No, do i see him as a player able to play alongside CB that will complement eachother? No. What does it say is after knowing ALL summer our dire need for a striker, we are now talking about bringing in someone who cant even get into a struggling relegation threatend team, yet is considered the player to fulfil our needs. Also lets not forget that Dougie Freedman was brought in so as to avoid this very situation, all i will say for now is let's wait until Thursday morning and see who arrives.

Benik Afobe

I read somewhere recently they'd take the 10m ish they paid and sell. Maybe 8-10 if we are desperate but not worth more as others have said.

I don't know if anyone told you, Alan isn't boss any more, so Benik can flash his headlights all he wants.

Actually a decent player that would suit us and play well with benteke. He's fast, strong and can finish.

Again not my fist choice but as one of two strikers to sign this window he's not the worst. More likely to be fit than sakho and probably a point to prove

Surely we are looking for a player to play INSTEAD of Benteke... we don't tend to play 2 upfront, so we would either have to limit our wing options or play two in midfield, and we know what happens when we do that

I believe Roy wants the option of playing two up top for certain games so a striker that can feed off Big Ben would work.

We've been playing 442 the vast majority of the time since Roy took over.

We are looking for someone to play alongside or in place of him I think/ hope.

Better than having fresh air on the bench though which is where we are heading at the moment

In that case we should sign another winger and take our chances with Zaha.
