Wouldn't the ex-copper who is saying all this still be subject to the official secrets act or whatever other confidentiality agreement he must have signed as part of his job?

It wasn't deviant stuff, which is the real shock here.

Who would have thought one of our MPs would have such straight, vanilla tastes? I am surprised he hasn't been drummed out the house just for that.

Also why do people on here keep saying 'looking at porn all day' ?

I would not normally come to the defence of a Tory MP but firstly how true is it that he had porn on his computer and secondly, why the outrage if he does?

This is a made up scandal to muddy his name, and for people to be outraged by people storing and looking at porn would suggest there is a great deal of hypocrisy going on here.
this. And it's not just porn, many people are probably not meant to look at facebook while at work, or check their whatsapp or go on the bbs but most employers accept that nobody functions properly working 100% of the time.

Spot on.

I wonder if there would be the same moral outrage if they had discovered he had been playing Call of Duty at work or similar?

Scrape the surface and we are still a very puritanical nation at times.

Ok let me rephrase. If a civil servant had looked at thousands of porn images then I would be fine with a whistle blower coming forward, especially for a senior manager. They should then be sacked.

Hardly the same. If someone walked in to your office and you were playing Call of Duty, that would hardly be the same as someone walking in to your office and your looking at porn. Someone going on the internet too much at work is likely to get a warning at most. Someone looking at porn is likely to be sacked.

Indeed, especially if the no 1 culprit was someone who sat on the main Board.

I bet if it had been Freddy Fishfingers working in cubicle scrote, the email and the following disciplinary process would have been different. Epecially if he wasnt particularly liked in the office.

And that is the rub here. If it had been some lowly under assistant in 2008, then they would have been informed on at the time, and removed.

But this has been brushed under the carpet for a decade.

he should be sacked, we don't pay tax to these MPs/Ministers so they can have a fiddle over smut on taxpayer funded equipment, also it was a Govt computer, by going on dodgy porn sites he was inviting viruses onto a Govt PC which is a security risk.

Years ago a popular MP died after some personal fetish with an orange a suspender belt and plastic bag that did not end to well, that was his personal behavior and had no detrimental affect upon his country. Profumo also years ago was involved with Miss Keeler who in turn was taking turns with a Russian with potentially serious espionage issues and resigned ( sacked).
Fallon resigned his position (A) because he was defence minister and (B) because he conveyed a pompous my sh!t does 'not stink attitude.

I cannot abide some of these people but aside from the the smug enjoyment that political followers enjoy unless their behavior has an impact on public lives/country,children and wives let the idiots carry on.

Exactly. And if you read closely the pictures were actually just thumbnails. Picture library apps like Picasa will search your drives for all graphics files, including temp internet files, most of which are thumbnails that build the web pages. Go to one porn page and it'll capture all the link thumbnails associated to that page.

Another non-story blown all out of proportion

Deviant (allegedly) Damian Green

I understand he has denied it so is there some sort of media / political witch hunt to get him ?

When did looking at Porn get linked to being deviant and who are the Lords of assessing scales of deviance - I certainly did not ask them to be judge and jury.

There will always be so called scandals, for the Liberals we paddy pants down and Jeremy before him. Dianne Abbot and Corbyn doing their thing and my favourite Edwina and John Major.

Frankly all of above is normal human behaviour and Im more likely not to trust so called clean politicians...bit of porn, who gives a ****.

Not on a workplace computer, it isn't.

In the past I have been warned about accessing the BBS and playing chess on a work computer. The chess was on my lunch break.

There is absolutely no reason for this to be acceptable behaviour in the workplace.

He must have some grounds if he is denying it. If it were me, I would be looking at taking the person fto court for making up stories - especially if I had the resources to do so. Let's see if he takes out a private action.
