If I had to guess I'd say things won't look too bad at the next election from a jobs perspective but the budgetary deficit will be bad. The Tories will do scorched earth to try to buy the election if they look like losing. They will cling on desperately at all costs in the hope that something comes up and in the meantime lay financial traps for Labour. (A hard Brexit will make things much worse).

Different ideologies? The tories want us to be brow beating, job fearing, selfish wankers, whereas Labour want to pool the wealth and enrich the state. Thats very generally speaking of course, and possibly slightly biased Either way their aims are very different. Probably how you end up with the sorts of political (and even bbs) arguments you do. Take the centrist extremist russophobe on here who doesn't like either side and who never shows his hand and you can understand why no group can work together well on the equivalent larger stage with people like that to have to deal with. Look at how the tories are struggling with their terrorist bed-sharers at the moment. They all want different things, but they are spending our money essentially on bribes in order to remain in power. There should be a vote of no confidence in these idiots before they can do any more damage.

No I think Corbyn needed to go on the attack. Demanding a Brexit that works for the many, not the few, unlike the Evil Economy-destroying Racist ToryBrexit. Make every cost of Brexit the tories fault.

The Labour Party is leading. A radical and genuinely alternative manifesto for the many, not the few.

Even Tory MPs are breaking down at the callous and disgusting policies they have:

I can't be arsed to start a thread for this, because in polling it's the average that counts not single polls, but since this thread exists...

And have been in other polls, although nearly all have shown labour ahead. But survation called the general election and they were the 8% ahead poll.

How's your lib Dems going?

Poor Heb. Went all quiet since the general election

Just a plus 2% shift to be expected after May's much publicised fudge to get to actual EU trade talks. This illustrates that a few people still hope that she can pull off a soft Brexit. However, we all know that the fudge will return to the headlines soon enough when actual documents need to be signed, rather than a presentation of words contrived to mean all things to all people.

very desperate. Who the hell are The Times anyway

Polls are pointless anyway. the thing everyone realises is not that the Tories are much Cop but rather how bad Corbo and his nutters are. He was truly a joke in the Commons yesterday and whatever your view on Brexit the Labour stance is a complete farce (even more than the Tories !)

Well quite. Single polls are daft. It's the average that counts (or the trend by a single company can also be informative, but trend of all still better)

I'm amused at dismissing the YouGov one for being commissioned by the Times though. The 8 point lead there was much pants wetting about was commissioned by the Mail on Sunday.

As much as I like Corbyn and his Manifesto he will struggle to beat the Tories because of his insincerity over Brexit , He is clearly anti-EU and he should be more upfront about it with the electorate rather than sit on the fence .

I think the key is that Blair etc were miles ahead. If Corbo is not miles ahead its by no means certain he could even be biggest party - makes you wonder what would need to happen for him to be consistently miles ahead

it would help if they could at least be consistent. I know no one watches political programs but Starmer on the AM seemed to be saying Labour want to stay in the Single Market and are ok with watered down FoM

Perhaps its time for another leader election. Ditch deadwood Marxist Corbin before momentum take Labour even further left although that would be preferable for me cause you wouldn't see a Labour government for many decades.
