You missed out does he want to continually be in a relegation scrap.

We are starting to pay big fees year after year, bringing in significantly better players. In theory at least this should create a team/squad with more ability to avoid relegation scraps.

£10-20m defenders
£10-15m Midfielders
£25m+ Strikers

How much is the best attacking winger prospect in the premier leagues worth?

A guy with great goals and assists stats even in an often crappy and underperforming Palace team.

Who is there that is significantly better for any of the big clubs to buy.

I would argue that Wilfs unconventional style actually adds an additional premium.

Nobody knows how to play him as nobody knows what he is going to do. Many other top players are just good at doing everting very very well.

There goes that word “unplayable” again.

Must be a lot, Bolasie had/has the same unpredictability and Zaha is 10 times the player he is.

No amount of money compensates an irreplaceable player like Wilf and he will also be worth the same or probably a lot more in a few years time so you are not losing money by not selling him. There is literally no reason to sell unless Wilf himself was desperate to leave which i don't think he is.
The champions league is a snooze fest these days that no one watches and winning trophies means nothing at a big club who win them every season, winning one with us however would go down in folklore for generations.

If we want Championship football again soon we sell.

If we don't we keep.

It's not even rocket science.

Yes, because the price is too low

Palace have already seen how important Wilf is to Palace by our poor performances when he missed 6 games.

We simply cannot afford to lose such a key player as staying up far outweighs any transfer fee that we may receive if we were to sell.

This is why he was given a new 5 year improved contract in May.

Indeedly. Look at Swansea. Sold Sigurdsson for around £45m but how much would relegation cost them?

Contracts work both ways like we have to play waste of space mutch till a certain date wilf is contracted to palace till 2022 now if he realy wants to go the summer when we can find a replacement that is the time to sell not in the middle of a relegation battle.wilf is our most important player by a mile what ever wilf is worth in Jan he will be worth that in June ect with all the top clubs interested it will be a auction.not worth losing over 100 million if we get relegated without wilf like others have said Swansea could reAly pay for selling there best players

Exactly, if a player really wants out then thatís what will happen one way or another

Though I think itís obvious Wilfs loyalty to Palace will be far greater than Sigurdsson's to Swansea. Plus I doubt Swansea are a club that pay 100k a week wages, which is what we are now paying Wilf.

The fact he ditched England and can now stay well clear of that media circus is a huge plus in the chances of him staying with us. The tapping up by other players in that camp is also best avoided.

A theory that doesn't stand up in reality. Look at clubs in recent times that tried and failed with the same theory, QPR, Fulham, Wigan, Bolton, Blackburn, Charlton, Sunderland, the list goes on.

Getting the right manager and holding on to him is much more important than how much you spend on players.
