Cheers mate.

And I am also pointing to a particularly hard of thinking kind of hypocrisy that exists with those type of individuals.

They will witter on about supposedly no-go zones in northern cities or Tower Hamlets, and then jump up and down with joy when a muslim player scores for Palace.

It seems they wish to pick and choose which type of immigrant comes to this country without realising that it doesnt work like that.

To take it a step further - 52% voted for Brexit - I would suggest that it make sense that at least 35% of Palace fans voted for Brexit (perhaps much higher). We all know that many voted on a thinly veiled xenophobic bias - not racist as such, but xenophobic certainly. If Brexit was to be achieved to the vision promised, unlikely now, should Cabaye, Benteke and others be on the first ferry back. Also Zaha, as he has betrayed his country.

As I say people can seemingly pick and choose their immigrants.

If somebody held up a red and blue moon and star flag in the Holmesdale I wouldn't think terrorist or extremist. FWIW I don't really get the whole FLA thing but have they committed any crimes/spread hate etc? Just seems like stereotyping to be honest.

Anyway this lad from Basle. A forward who can play out wide sounds like exactly what we need considering we started without a recognised forward on Saturday and ended up replacing both our wide men with a left back and a Championship standard winger. I think much would depend on what Basle would want for him but with versatility and a good pedigree he certainly ticks a lot of boxes.

Really, you really dont get it?

Following a spate of some hideous attacks, a group of football fans are organised into a march to denounce intolerance. The march was a sea of white football supporting lads with Brexit sympathies. Where were the muslims, where was the invited speakers from multi-culural communities. TBF from far away, I am happy to be corrected on this.

It was nothing less than an insidious attempt to infiltrate football fans from those on the far right in much the same way as the NF used to do.

The sad thing is that a good number of very nice Palace fans got suckered into it for what they thought were the right reasons.

Politics needs to be separate from football. And in my view that extends to all this furour over gay fans and gay footballers. I dont see what value our own gay football group bring to the table. Now they have tabled their concerns and homophobic chanting is being diminished I think they coud disband TBH. I dont see why they are any different to any other football fans following Palace.

I agree, so why post something like your original comment on a transfer forum?

I come here to look for transfer gossip, not comments on politics or racism for that matter.

I will leave that there. I would not like this thread being sabotaged more than it already has been.

So anyone with knowledge of football in Europe, is he highly thought of? I'd imagine Roy would have a great knowledge of European football as a whole which can only be a good thing.

That indeed is very fair.

Lets see what Transfer Santa brings us in the New Year.

Just won December player of the month from the Swiss equivalent of the The Sun. So he's highly regarded, albeit Basel are the Swiss Man Utd, so polls get distorted by their followers.

He's being asked in interviews about the January window and if he'll be staying at Basel. He answers with the expected diplomacy (under contract to summer 2021).

I've seen him say before he's dreamed of playing in England's Premier League.

Coached by Solskjaer in Norway, and you can see that in the way he plays.

Edit: so Freedman should know where to SMS for inside info

And TBF. This bloke is far, far away from being a Palace player, so I wouldnt worry about positive or negative comments. You will be queueing up for Gerards autograph next. LOL

No you silly sausage see posts 46 and 47.

It was agreed to drop the subject and concentrate on football. You have steamed in without reading the whole thread.

Not sure which way this thread is heading so here's the obligatory highlights video witch godforsaken background music. Including showboating on about 4 mins where I'm pretty sure he losses the ball.

And to cover all bases, something on the FLA (not watched it so can't provide a synopsis)
